I have watched it happen many times - the card turns over and there is a silence. Then — almost always — the person sitting across from me says some version of the same thing:

Let me share with you what years of pulling the Death card in love readings has taught me.
It has rarely predicted the end of a relationship in the way people fear when they first see the card.
What it has predicted, every time, is this: something is finishing. Something that has already run its course is now being asked to let go. A version of a relationship. A way of loving someone that no longer serves either of you. An identity you have been carrying — the one who waits, the one who forgives everything, the one who makes themselves small — that is finally, mercifully, ready to be released.

Death in the tarot is not an ending. It is a threshold.

And in love readings, it almost always arrives at a moment of profound transformation — when the relationship you are in is about to become something different, or when you yourself are about to become someone your old love story cannot contain. Neither of those things is something to fear.

In twenty years of reading love questions, this is a question that I am often asked when is someone is healing or navigating the loss of connection with a beloved.
"Does he think about me?"

I would like to share what I have learned from sitting with this question hundreds of times — across kitchen tables, on psychic phone lines, on Zoom calls, in quiet rooms where someone has finally let themselves ask the thing they have been carrying for weeks or months...sometimes years.

The tarot almost never answers it directly. Not because the answer isn't there, but because it has learned, over centuries, what we have not yet learned ourselves: that the more useful question is never about the other person.

Of course there are cards that indicate thoughts and feelings in the tarot however, tarot is at its best when it offers guidance to move forward. To let go and receive what is new.

Because when we find that answer — I mean eally find it — the question of whether they are thinking about us quietly loses its grip.

It appears for many that the close of 2024 has left you with some uncertainty.
