🌈 Support doesn’t always look like “support”.

Sometimes it looks like sitting quietly in the sand, completely absorbed in play and doing things your own way.

Sometimes it looks like getting through a dentist appointment — something that can be a HUGE achievement when the environment, sounds, sensations and uncertainty can feel overwhelming.

And sometimes the biggest wins are the ones that might look completely ordinary to everyone else. 💛

At A Colourful Life, we believe meaningful support starts with understanding the individual in front of us.

It’s not about making someone fit into our world.

It’s about creating the right environment, providing the right support and giving people the space to experience the world in their own way, at their own pace. 🌈

Because progress looks different for everyone.

And those seemingly little wins?

They can actually be the biggest ones of all. 💛

🌈 A little reminder for whoever needs it today…

When you spend so much time caring for, supporting and showing up for others, it’s easy to put yourself at the bottom of the list.

But filling your own cup isn’t selfish. 💛

Maybe it’s a quiet coffee, five minutes outside, your favourite song, a chat with a friend — or simply giving yourself permission to slow down.

Whatever it looks like for you, you matter too.

🌈 A family business, for families like ours.

Behind A Colourful Life is a real family, with real lived experience.

We know what it’s like to navigate autism, appointments, therapies, school, siblings, work, parenting — and all the ordinary, beautiful chaos in between.

And that experience is a big part of why A Colourful Life exists.

I wanted to create something that feels different.

Something warm.
Something personal.
Something that understands that when you’re supporting one person, you’re often supporting a whole family around them. 💛

This gorgeous little face beside me is our youngest — and she’s part of our colourful life too.

You’ll probably see more of our family here because A Colourful Life isn’t separate from our story.

Our family helped inspire it — and we’re building it for families like ours. 🌈

🌈 Hi, I’m Kirsten — the mum behind A Colourful Life.

And this beautiful girl is a big part of the reason it exists. 💛

A Colourful Life was born from my own experience of being a mum raising a daughter with autism and navigating a life that can be beautiful, colourful, overwhelming, unpredictable and sometimes incredibly isolating.

Along the way, I realised just how important community and connection are.

Sometimes you don’t need someone to fix anything.

You just need people around you who get it.

That’s what I want A Colourful Life to become. 🌈

A place that brings people together. A place where disability is understood and embraced. A place for connection, inclusion, friendship and experiences that bring a little joy and colour into everyday life.

And it’s also why I’m so excited about things like Brunch & Blooms 🌸 — creating opportunities for mums and women to actually stop, connect, laugh and do something beautiful for themselves.

This little page is only at the beginning, and I have so many ideas for where I’d love to take it.

For now, I just wanted to introduce the two people behind the heart of it. 💛

A little page with a whole lot of heart. 💗

A Colourful Life was created from two very important parts of my world — my professional experience as a nurse and my lived experience as a mum.

We’re a registered NDIS provider, but I want A Colourful Life to be about more than services.

I want it to be about people, connection and community. 🌸

A place where neurodiversity is celebrated.
Where people feel seen, heard and valued.
Where families feel understood.
And where we can create opportunities to simply come together.

You’ll see our NDIS and nursing services here, but you’ll also see community events, little moments of joy and some exciting things I’ve been dreaming up behind the scenes. 🥂💐✨
