Topic: Tai Chi for Health and Happiness: Research, Practice and Real-World Impact

What if one of the most effective tools for improving health and well-being was also one of the simplest?

Join Dr Guoyan (Emily) Yang and Associate Professor Janet Conti as they explore the growing evidence behind Tai Chi, a practice often described as "meditation in motion." Drawing on research, clinical trial experience, and real-world applications, they will examine how Tai Chi can support cardiovascular health, cognitive function, stress reduction, healthy ageing, and overall well-being.

Discover how this centuries-old practice is helping address modern health challenges and learn how gentle movement and mindfulness can contribute to healthier individuals and more resilient communities.

Celebrating the First International Tai Chi Day at the Blue Mountains!

On 21 March 2026, I joined the world in honouring this historic moment - and we were doing so in one of the most breath-taking places on Earth: the World Heritage-listed Blue Mountains.

Here, surrounded by vast valleys, sandstone cliffs, and ancient eucalyptus forests, Tai Chi's spirit of health, peach, and cultural diversity feels especially alive. The landscape naturally invites us to slow down, breathe deeply, and move with the rhythm of nature. It is a place where the idea of harmony between humans and the natural world becomes something you can truly feel.

We were proud to celebrate this inaugural global event in such a magnificent setting. Let the mountains hold you, the fresh air and drifting clouds guide you, and Tai Chi connect us all.
