You are not imagining it.

“Tired” gets used as a catch all for mums, but what you are describing is often something more specific: a pattern your body is trying to show you, that needs deeper understanding and treatment to make you feel energised again.

The Beyond Tired scorecard looks at six areas of postnatal depletion in five minutes, so you can see your own pattern instead of guessing.

Comment SCORECARD and I’ll send it to your DMs.

Lying awake at 10 pm furiously your own body for wasting precious sleep time?

It might feel like a personal failure for the day, but it’s usually a nervous system that’s been on for a long time and hasn’t had a chance to properly switch off.

The relief of “your blood tests came back normal” followed by the frustration of still feeling awful. Who’s experienced this before? 🙋‍♀️I have

It is one of the most common things my clients bring up with me when they come in with their results

Here’s the thing, a result siting in normal ranges is a great starting point but it doesn’t mean you will be thriving. And it doesn’t mean that “normal” number is what’s going to work best for you.

Assessing your blood work with optimal levels in mind is what I do, so you can feel your best. But I also help make sure your blood tests are going to include all the necessary information we need about why you’re feeling the way you are, so don’t be discouraged by being told it’s all “normal” this is a starting point to investigate a bit deeper and get the answers you need

Weaning gets talked about like a finish line, the end of a season. For a lot of mums, it is actually the start of a whole new hormonal chapter that can leave them feeling worse.

If you have weaned and started feeling worse , or your cycle has come back feeling like a stranger’s this one’s for you.

Understanding what’s happening underneath can make a confusing phase feel a lot less alarming.

Prolactin and oxytocin drop as feeds decrease, oestrogen and progesterone are trying to regulate to pre pregnancy levels, our stress hormone cortisol is high, plus most mums are not getting enough sleep and dealing with on going nutrient deficiencies- all of these factors make a hormonal rollercoaster for already exhausted mums.

No one warned me what weaning could do to my mood, energy and sleep.

If you’re weaning (or just finished) and feeling flat, teary, wired or completely wrung out, it may not be “just you”. Your hormones could be doing a lot of heavy lifting.

Here’s the simple version 👇
While you’re breastfeeding, prolactin supports milk production, and oxytocin supports let-down, bonding and a sense of calm. When you wean, both begin to fall. At the same time, oestrogen and progesterone shift as your body works to cycle back towards pre-pregnancy patterns, and cortisol (your stress hormone) is in the mix too.

When that happens quickly, it can feel like a hormonal rollercoaster. Add broken sleep, high stress and a body that’s already been running on empty since pregnancy, and it can feel even steeper.
A gentler pace can give your body more time to adjust. But life doesn’t always allow that, and either way, you deserve support, not “just push through”.

I’m Jessica, a naturopath helping exhausted, depleted mums move out of survival mode and thrive, so you can actually enjoy motherhood.

💌 Comment SCORECARD and I’ll send you my Beyond Tired: Postnatal Depletion Scorecard so you can see where you’re at.
🔖 Save this for the days it feels like too much, and send it to a weaning mum who needs to hear it.

Still breaking out in your 30s or 40s? It’s probably not your skincare.

Adult acne shows up differently to teenage acnee and for a lot of women, it’s less about what’s on your skin and more about what’s happening underneath it.

Cortisol, insulin, progesterone, oestrogen and androgens all have a say in your skin. When one of those systems is out of balance, breakouts can follow along the jawline, chin, or in a cyclical pattern.

That’s why treating it topically only ever gets you so far. You can calm the surface, but if the hormonal driver is still there, it tends to come back.

This is exactly what I’m covering in my upcoming Hormone Masterclass , the systems behind your hormonal symptoms, how to start recognising your own pattern, and where to go from there.

👉Your period symptoms might be telling you more than you realise.

Heavy bleeding.
Painful periods.
PMS.
Mood swings.
Headaches.
Hormonal acne.

These symptoms are often treated as completely separate problems.

But when they follow a predictable pattern around your cycle, it can be worth stepping back and asking:
What is actually driving all of this?

Oestrogen dominance refers to a hormonal situation where oestrogen is high relative to progesterone, whether that’s because oestrogen is elevated, progesterone is low, or both.

And hormones don’t operate in isolation.

Your gut is involved in the metabolism and elimination of oestrogen, which is why the gut–hormone connection is such an important piece of the puzzle.

This is exactly what I’m unpacking in my upcoming masterclass:
-> What oestrogen dominance actually means
-> Oestrogen vs progesterone
-> Why PMS, heavy periods and cyclical acne can occur together
-> The gut–oestrogen connection + estrobolome
-> Nutrition, stress, sleep and lifestyle foundations
-> Where testing can fit in, so you’re not just guessing

Sick of dreading your cycle? Let’s fix the heavy periods, breakouts and mood swings.
