Remembering Dr. Rob McNeilly
It is with the greatest sadness that we learn of the passing of Dr Rob McNeilly.
Rob had a long and valued connection with the Australian Hypnotherapists Association, as a longstanding member, respected colleague, teacher and presenter.
Over many years, Rob generously shared his extensive knowledge and experience with our members and the wider hypnotherapy community through workshops, training and professional presentations.
Rob presented at our National World Congress in Brisbane in 2019, and continued to contribute to the professional development of our members through numerous workshops and presentations in the years that followed.
His generosity in sharing his knowledge, experience and expertise was greatly valued by all who had the opportunity to learn from him.
Rob was a highly respected physician, psychotherapist and clinical hypnotherapist, and an internationally recognised teacher of the Ericksonian approach to hypnosis.
As a student of the legendary Dr Milton H. Erickson, Rob brought a depth of knowledge and understanding to his work that was both remarkable and deeply influential.
His contribution to the development and teaching of clinical hypnotherapy in Australia was significant. He helped shape the understanding and practice of Ericksonian hypnosis for generations of practitioners and inspired many through his teaching, wisdom and experience.
Yet beyond his considerable professional achievements, Rob will be remembered by many of us as a truly lovely man warm, generous, humble and always willing to share his knowledge and support others.
His passing is a profound loss to the Australian hypnotherapy profession.
His knowledge, experience, wisdom and contribution will be deeply missed, not only by the Australian Hypnotherapists Association, but by the wider hypnotherapy community both in Australia and internationally.
On behalf of the Australian Hypnotherapists Association, we extend our deepest condolences to Robโs family, friends, colleagues, students and all those who had the privilege of knowing him.
Thank you, Rob, for your generosity, your wisdom and your immense contribution to our profession.
Your legacy will live on through the many practitioners you taught, inspired and influenced.
Vale, Dr Rob McNeilly.
You will be deeply missed.
