I had a little win in my own family tree recently and thought it was a great example of not relying on Ancestry hints and other people’s “research”.

Death records from the 1800s are a real eye-opener sometimes. 😟 This poor woman's cause of death (at the young age of 37) was 'caries of the spine' also known as Pott's Disease or tuberculosis in the spine. It often resulted in chronic pain, swelling, and eventual deformity. As the disease progressed, it could lead to the destruction of spinal vertebrae, causing collapse or compression of the spine, which often resulted in severe deformities and disabilities.
