On Early Childhood Educators’ Day, we’re celebrating the incredible educators we have the privilege of working alongside and the CFDC team members who collaborate with them to support children where so much of their learning, connection and development takes place.

The most meaningful outcomes rarely happen through one person working alone. They happen when educators, families and therapists share knowledge, notice the small things and work together around each child.

To the educators who welcome us into your spaces, share your insights, embrace new strategies and show up for children with patience, warmth and consistency: thank you.

Your work is skilled, demanding and deeply important. We see the thought behind the environments you create, the relationships you nurture and the countless moments of care that may otherwise go unnoticed.

Does your child constantly need to move, climb, jump or crash to stay focused? 🧠✨

For some children, movement isn’t a distraction — it can be an important part of how their nervous system regulates and prepares for learning.

As paediatric occupational therapists, we look beyond the behaviour we can see and consider what might be happening underneath it.

Swinging, climbing, pushing, pulling and jumping can provide valuable vestibular and proprioceptive input that may support sensory regulation, body awareness, attention and participation.

At Centre for Developing Children, our occupational therapy sessions are child-led and individually tailored to understand what each child’s nervous system needs to participate meaningfully in everyday life.

Because sometimes, movement isn’t getting in the way of learning.

Movement is what makes learning possible. 💙

There are so many moments people don’t see.

The conversations after a tough session.
The planning behind every goal.
The excitement when a child achieves something they’ve been working so hard towards.
The laughs, the problem-solving, the encouragement, and the genuine care that happens every single day.

This is the heart behind Centre for Developing Children. 🤍

Our occupational therapists, therapy assistants, and admin team each play an equally important role in creating a place where children feel safe, families feel supported, and every child is given the opportunity to thrive.

I feel incredibly grateful to work alongside people who care so deeply. People who celebrate the little wins, stay curious, keep learning, and always put our children and families first.

A partnership we’re very excited about 🤍

At CFDC, we’re always looking for meaningful ways to support participation beyond the therapy room.

That’s why we’re excited to be partnering with Rafael Santana, founder of Synaflow Adaptive BJJ.

Synaflow is a movement-based program designed for neurodivergent children and adults, using structured movement, predictable routines, and adaptive Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu to support confidence, body awareness, self-regulation, and connection.

What we love most is Rafael’s neuroaffirming, strengths-based approach and his commitment to creating safe, supportive environments where individuals can learn, move, and thrive.

This partnership will bring new opportunities for our CFDC community, including school holiday programs, group experiences, and individual sessions.

The peg wasn’t the goal ✨

What looks like a simple play activity is actually providing opportunities to develop multiple foundational skills at once.

As children balance, reach, bend, coordinate, and problem-solve, they’re strengthening:
• Body awareness
• Balance and postural control
• Core strength
• Motor planning
• Bilateral coordination
• Visual-motor integration
• Reflex integration

These foundational skills support participation in everyday activities including play, learning, self-care, sport, and social engagement.

The best part? Our kiddos are having so much fun they don’t realise just how hard their brains and bodies are working 💙

Our first early learning partnership and just the beginning. 🤍

We’re proud to officially partner with Mini Minds Montessori.

At CFDC, we don’t believe therapy should sit in isolation.
Real impact happens when we support the whole environment around the child.

This means:
• Working alongside educators within the classroom
• Building capacity through educator workshops and training
• Creating connection through parent and community information nights
• And offering group programs that support shared learning and real-world skill development

Because when the people around the child feel confident and supported, outcomes change.

This is what meaningful early intervention looks like. A model that builds understanding, consistency, and long-term impact.
