What helped you most in your postpartum period?
Is there a nutritious recipe you know?
What helps/helped your toddlers find their footing in this time of adjustment?

I’m trying soak in all the little moments with just the smoll bubba, and also all the moments with both babies together and all the different family dynamics 💕

Have missed being a mum to a newborn - the shortest chapter in motherhood but it really makes you reflect on Allah’s creation and the beauty and the science and just everything subhanallah.

Yes, the program will go into Ramadan, in my view Ramadan will enhance the experience of working on yourself, bring barakah into your focused habits, and bring ease to continue the work after Eid - Ramadan shouldn't stop you from working on yourself - in fact should encourage you to build that descipline, resilience and connection to what you're working on, on a spiritual level too❤️

As a Muslim I had the thought that crossed probably all of our minds - “Should I stay home tomorrow?”

The fear, anxiety and shared sadness around this tragedy is heavy. Make sure your social media doesn’t contribute even more to this feeling unnecessarily-

meaning the algorithm may show you dated old cctv, filmed violent content thats no longer relevant- i’ve definitely gotten my fair share of it and it doesn’t help because its rage bait or a trap , and if your brain is like mine, you’ll want to watch it through because you need an ending to the story -a why for what happened and then be left frustrated because usually violence has no justification.

Please stay safe as the year starts to end, be present for your families and yourself - the phone will not show you what you need, everyone you need inshallah can be reached for a chill gatho/ tea/ bbq

Praying we end this year in reflection and in company of those we love inshallah 💕💕💕

I know there’s a lot of posts around talking about the most toxic person you know going to to therapy and being validated and called amazing 😅🥲 but listen, we can feel when stories don’t match, even within the one story if you’re doing your job right, it’s very easy to catch contractions, the intent a person may have towards others, etc

and if you’ve been going therapy for a while (with the one therapist) eventually they will use challenging as a means to explore those contradictions, deflections, and sometimes even mean comments (about others & sometimes ourselves).

Accountability is a personal responsibility at the end of the day but a therapist can help you explore with guidance and support if you’re looking to improve in that regard.

Even if therapy isn’t in the cards right now, think about yourself and how you take accountability daily. Think in regards to being a daughter, wife, mother, because any role you have will need you to have a sense accountability to help ensure you’re not hurting anyone.

Journalling about this, or just having a mental check before you go to sleep about your own behaviours, actions, words spoken, thinking about what you were meant to do for your family but didn’t or couldn’t, and remaking that intention can help you improved immensely - sometimes just having that awareness makes us realise ‘oh I need to do that better!’

How do you take accountability in your day?

It really is hard to find the time to connect meaningfully, sometimes even with good friends we know we’ll enjoy, the mental load of reaching out and planning can feel overwhelming if you’re at capacity, but this is when we can actually do the self- care we genuinely need.

It takes effort to create these moments but let’s be real, everything takes effort - so you may as well use your effort to create an opportunity of laughter, joy, shared grief, or just time to simply talk. It’s worth it.

I see so many reels and influencers talking about keeping their ‘peace’ but at the end they’re just create opportunities for bitterness and isolation, let’s not do that to ourselves and our loved ones. Especially if you have children, model the etiquette of checking in with others, of inviting others, of showing up; this is their little window into community and being a villager.

Some of us didn’t really grow up with communities, maybe we were part of a judgemental community that looked at us as the ‘others’ - being from a single parent family I can really understand that grief of never having anyone show up for our parents, so in someways acting differently to all the judgemental aunties and uncles gives us healing where we’re showing up for our little selves too 💕

Don’t wait for kind people to be a kind person.

Sorting through our narratives and life stories can help you feel a sense of closure, strength, sadness and maybe sometimes frustration- so it’s ofc important to make sure you’re in a good head space, grounded, and in a safe space.

The reason i’m suggesting this is because it’s a powerful thing to take account of your story, it helps you recognise patterns, of yourself and of others, and it can bring some clarity around who you are, and why you do things the way you do.

A lot of us do this naturally, are you one of them?
