It’s no secret hangovers get more debilitation as you get older.
1. The enzymes in your liver that break alcohol begin to slow down, meaning alcohol sits in your body for longer
2. Less total body water content and hydration hormones are less responsive, so alcohol is more concentrated in your blood and you’re dehydrated
3. Reduced antioxidant capacity, so the inflammation and stress from alcohol hits harder
4. Sleep is lighter, so alcohol’s disruption to the sleep cycles are more profound.
So, what would be the best way to counter these?
1. Increase the number of enzymes in your liver with B-vitamins, L-Cysteine and DHM
2. Hydrate as often as possible with electrolytes
3. Increase anti-oxidant capacity with vitamin C and Milk thistle
4. Improve sleep quality by having your last drink at least 3 hours before sleep and taking magnesium.
Alternatively, you can find an array of hangover supplements with a number of these ingredients.
Just make sure they include B-vitamins, L-cysteine, DHM, milk thistle, vitamin C and magnesium.
Honestly a lot harder to find than you think.
So, obviously I made my own with these at the clinical dose for hangovers because it was so difficult to find on the market.
There’s a link in the bio if you wanted to get more info on it.
