And we're underway!

All Bodies, All Voices opened the only way it should, welcomed onto Country by Uncle Brendan Kerin. From there, we moved into our International Keynote with Dr Sook Ning Chua, clinical psychologist, eating disorders specialist and founder of Relate Malaysia. Dr Chua challenged the room to ask whose experience our diagnostic frameworks were built around, and what we miss when we treat them as culturally neutral. When someone's story doesn't fit the criteria, she asked, is it the story we should be doubting, or the criteria?

It's exactly the question this conference exists to sit with. Every body. Every voice!

We pay our respects to the Gadigal people of the Eora Nation and to Elders past and presen 🖤💛❤️

That's a wrap on day one! 🎉

Our pre-conference workshops brought together some of the most thoughtful minds in the field and the conversations did not disappoint.

From GLP-1 medications and the language we use, to eating disorders and chronic illness, cultural safety, eating disorders in men and boys, and navigating clinical complexity, every session came back to the same truth: care must make room for every body and every voice.

Thank you to our brilliant facilitators and everyone who showed up ready to learn. This is All Bodies, All Voices in action. 💛

Today, ahead of the 2026 ANZAED Conference, delegates from across the Eating Disorder Alliance (EDA) came together to sign a new Memorandum of Understanding, renewing our shared commitment to work as one for the more than 1.1 million Australians living with an eating disorder.
Together we also confirmed plans for our next One Voice ask, which we'll be taking to Canberra: a united, coordinated call for the leadership, coordination and investment our sector, and the communities we serve, urgently need.
Thank you to every organisation around the table today.
