Today we pause to honour the courage, sacrifice and service of the men and women who have served our country. We remember their enduring strength, their willingness to stand for others, and the legacy they leave in our national story.

A Current Affair shared a story last night about Tyler - a son, husband and father who tragically lost his life in a workplace accident in the prime of his life, at age 34. His wife, Kiara, spoke about the importance of safety on worksites and the difference a harness could have made that day. Kiara’s husband, Tyler, was also an organ donor, and his decision has saved six lives. Her courage in sharing their story is a powerful reminder of the fragility of life, of the pain and loss experienced by his loved ones and how even in death we can give life.

Our hearts are heavy following the tragic events in Bondi. We hold in our thoughts and prayers all those who have been affected, their families, and the wider community.
We are deeply grateful to the first responders and emergency services whose courage brought protection and care in the midst of such devastation. Their dedication reminds us of the strength and compassion that carries us through difficult times.
May those impacted find comfort and healing, and may we continue to support one another with kindness and solidarity.
