At our August Building Bridges Network event, we asked attendees to share their thoughts on the realities of travelling with disability and what needs to change to make travel more accessible, inclusive and practical.

Meet our Panelist | Natalie Mackenzie

We’re pleased to welcome Natalie MacKenzie, Head of Clinical Services at KidsXpress, to the panel at our upcoming Building Bridges Network event.

Natalie is a qualified Dramatherapist with more than 15 years’ experience supporting children, young people and families. Her professional background spans trauma, early intervention for psychosis, addiction, and child and adolescent mental health.

Natalie is committed to elevating the voices and lived experiences of children so that their needs inform clinical practice, program development and strategic direction.

Meet our Panelist | Keith Donnelly

We’re pleased to welcome Keith Donnelly, founder and director of Keith’s Closet, to the panel at our upcoming Building Bridges Network event.

Keith is an experienced Clinical Nurse Specialist and Nursing Manager with a focus on Mental Health Nursing. He is the recipient of multiple awards, including the Australian Mental Health Prize in recognition of his work with Keith’s Closet.

Keith’s Closet is a not-for-profit charity providing free clothing, toiletries, footwear, accessories, haircuts and other essentials to people accessing mental health services upon admission, during their stay or when leaving a mental health facility.

Meet our Panelist | Liz Mullinar AM

We’re honoured to welcome Liz Mullinar AM, founder of the Heal For Life Foundation, to the panel at our upcoming Building Bridges Network event.

As a survivor herself, Liz brings a deeply personal understanding to her work supporting people affected by childhood trauma and abuse. Through Heal For Life, she has helped empower more than 12,000 survivors.

Before establishing Heal For Life, Liz founded Advocates for Survivors of Child Abuse, now known as the Blue Knot Foundation. Her contributions have been recognised through an Order of Australia, the Centenary Medal and the NSW Volunteer of the Year award.

Here are a few highlights from yesterday’s Building Bridges Network event, Beyond the Journey: Making Accessible Travel the Norm, Not the Exception.

It was a great afternoon of meaningful conversation, shared experiences and practical insights around accessible travel, inclusion and the realities of travelling with disability.
