This August, Jamaica Blue is proud to partner with Jeans for Genes Australia to help support life-changing research for children affected by genetic diseases.

Throughout the month of August, customers can enjoy great coffee while making a meaningful difference by supporting our fundraising initiatives:

💙 50 cents from every medium coffee sold on Jeans for Genes Day, Thursday 6 August, will be donated to the cause.

🍪 $1 from every Jeans for Genes Cookie sold throughout August will be donated to support children's medical research.

💙 Customers can also make a direct donation in-store throughout the month.

Every donation, no matter the size, helps fund vital research that brings hope to children and families affected by genetic conditions.

All In, the theme for National Reconciliation Week 2026, is a call for all Australians to commit wholeheartedly to reconciliation every single day.
All In makes clear that reconciliation is not a spectator sport and that all of us must step away from the sidelines and take actions that create change.
Reconciliation Australia CEO Karen Mundine reminded Australians that achieving reconciliation and advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples’ rights is not a passive activity.
‘Reconciliation isn’t the responsibility of First Nations peoples alone.
‘We have carried the weight of championing, explaining, and acting for far too long.
‘The work that remains, requires all of us to join the reconciliation team,’ she said. ‘This call is not about guilt or shame but about the responsibility and reciprocity of being Australian.
‘Reconciliation will not happen by itself, we must be all in for reconciliation.
‘In 2026, we need more than goodwill and spectators cheering from the sideline.
‘We need to take actions that create a better society,’ she said.

What "All In" Means

The 2026 theme emphasises that reconciliation is everyone's responsibility, not just the burden of First Nations peoples. It urges individuals, organisations, and communities to move beyond passive support and gestures by:

Interrogating diversity and inclusion policies to ensure they are actionable and impactful.

Engaging respectfully with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and perspectives.
Remaining open to learning and having honest conversations.

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) in 2026 runs from 27 May to 3 June.

The dates commemorate two major milestones in Australia's reconciliation journey: the successful 1967 referendum and the historic 1992 Mabo High Court decision.

This year's theme is "All In". It serves as a call to action for all Australians to wholeheartedly commit to reconciliation, highlighting that the work of advancing Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander rights is a shared responsibility rather than a passive activity.

On International Nurses Day, we were proud to celebrate Caitlin as the recipient of the HESTA Clinical Staff Excellence Award.

Caitlin was recognised for her outstanding commitment to patient care, clinical excellence, and the positive impact she consistently makes within our hospital community.

This recognition also provided a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge her recent nomination for the NT Nurses and Midwives Awards – a testament to the respect and admiration she has earned from colleagues and patients alike.
