This is one of the most common misconceptions we hear in autism assessments.

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) presents differently in every individual. Some autistic people have strong verbal skills, use eye contact, and appear socially confident — but may still experience challenges with social communication, sensory processing, flexibility, or understanding social nuance.

Autism is not defined by one behaviour.
It is identified through patterns across development, communication, interaction, and behaviour.
