Today is Lauren’s last day.

She begins her maternity leave now and will be back some time next year.

We hope the birth of your fourth baby goes well, and we can’t wait to hear what you have!

WELCOME HELEN
Please join us in welcoming Helen Flohr, our newest optometrist.
Helen will be joining our team in November whilst Lauren is away on maternity leave.
Helen is has actually worked here with Alan in the past, so some of you will have already met her.
Helen graduated from QUT in 1996 with Honours and subsequently completed a Graduate Certificate in Ocular Therapeutics, which enabled her to prescribe ocular medication. She has over 30 years of optometry experience across rural, regional and metro QLD. Helen grew up in the Darling Downs region, and loves the countryside. She has two cats called Toothless and Callie.
But don't worry, she also likes Dogs, especially Zuko!
Abby will be working Wednesday-Saturday during this time.

Did you know that women are more prone to some eye conditions than men? This can be due to hormones, pregnancy, menopause and even the make up they wear.

Our optometrists can assess for dry eye, due to hormone changes, medication and lifestyle.

Our optometrists can assess for diabetic retinopathy in women with type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes.

Our optometrists can assess for eye dryness, inflammation and infection due to make up ingredients, glues (from fake eyelashes), dyes and the bacteria associated with it and provide advise on how to apply, remove makeup and how to care for your eye health.

We often get asked if we see babies?
YES we do!
There's no such thing as too young.
Our tests and testing methods change depending on the concern and developmental visual stage and age of the child.
Usually babies are seated in their parents lap, where they can be comfortable and supported.
