𝗪𝗵𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗹𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲?
It's a fair question.
Because there are plenty of people talking about shift work who have never actually lived it.
I have.
For more than 40 years I worked 24/7 shift work on the frontline with Victoria Police. I know what it's like to finish a night shift exhausted, struggle to sleep during the day, miss birthdays, family events and Christmas mornings, and wonder if feeling permanently tired is simply part of the job.
For years, I accepted that it was.
Then I started asking a different question.
"What if it doesn't have to be this way?"
That question changed the direction of my life.
I immersed myself in the science of circadian biology, sleep, chrononutrition, human performance and womeans health, determined to understand why shift work affects us, especially females, the way it does. What I discovered was surprisingly simple.
Shift workers aren't broken.
Our biology is simply responding to the signals we're giving it.
When you understand those signals and learn how to work with them instead of against them, everything starts to change.
Today, I combine more than 40 years of lived shift work experience with evidence-based education to help shift workers sleep better, feel better and build healthier lives around their roster.
I also work with organisations that operate 24/7, helping them build healthier, safer and higher-performing workforces through workforce education and Shift Work Champions™.
Everything I teach has one goal.
To help you understand your body in a way that finally makes sense.
“Because it doesn't have to be this way.”
If you're ready to build a healthier life around shift work, you're in the right place. Follow along, because we're only just getting started.
