Did you know occupational therapy can help children with sensory processing challenges?

Sensory processing challenges can affect how a child experiences and responds to the world around them. Everyday activities like getting dressed, brushing teeth, sitting in class, or joining in at the playground can feel overwhelming, uncomfortable, or even exhausting.

An Occupational Therapist (OT) can help by:

✔️ Understanding your child's unique sensory profile
✔️ Identifying triggers and situations that are challenging
✔️ Developing practical strategies to support regulation and participation
✔️ Adapting environments, routines, and activities to better meet your child's needs
✔️ Supporting families, educators, and caregivers to create consistent approaches across home, school, and community settings

The goal isn't to change who your child is. It's to help them feel more comfortable, confident, and able to participate in the activities that matter to them.

Every child experiences the world differently. With the right support, sensory differences don't have to be a barrier to learning, playing, and thriving.

Did you know occupational therapy can help children & teens with emotional regulation?

Big emotions can be hard to manage for children, teens and the adults supporting them.

Emotional regulation is the ability to recognise, understand, and manage emotions in a way that helps us cope with everyday challenges. For some people, this can be particularly difficult, leading to frequent meltdowns, frustration, anxiety, withdrawal, or challenges with transitions and change.

An Occupational Therapist (OT) can help by:

✔️ Identifying what may be contributing to emotional overwhelm
✔️ Helping children & teens recognise and understand their emotions
✔️ Teaching practical strategies to manage big feelings
✔️ Building skills for problem-solving
✔️ Supporting routines and environments that promote regulation
✔️ Working alongside families, educators, and caregivers to create consistent support across settings

Emotional regulation isn't about stopping children & teens from having feelings. It's about helping them develop the skills and confidence to navigate those feelings successfully.

When we feel understood and supported, we are better able to participate in learning, relationships, play, and the everyday activities that are important to us. 🌱

ATTENTION THERAPISTS!
REGISTRATIONS are open for our Single Session Course, starting on the 7th May.

Why Single-Session Therapy?
The way people access mental health and OT support is changing and our practice needs to change with it.

High cost of living. Packed schedules. Limited Mental Health Care Plan sessions, NDIA budget cuts. More and more people can only make it in once, and that session needs to count.

Single Session Work is a model built for exactly this reality. It's not about doing less it's about being fully intentional with every contact. Genuine collaboration. Real problem-solving. Meaningful outcomes, even when there's only one opportunity.

One well planned session, with skilful questions and warm, direct reflections can shift perspective, direction and make a meaningful difference in peoples lives.

This course teaches- The One Session System
