Hello! It’s me again. Over 1 year later!
My last post was an update on my year, which if you remember I squeezed a lot into 2024. I was running on that momentum going in to 2025. It started off in a similar fashion mixed with leisure and work consisting of Perth for a wedding, Adelaide for the annual Go Vita conference and catch ups with old university friends, a cyclone also occurred (not sure if that fits leisure or work) & all the while I worked as per usual consulting & managing.
But as I tell my patients when you run on adrenaline and hustle for that long you aren’t destined for good health! I started getting sick on the reg, my hair started falling out & along the way I was diagnosed with a skin cancer smack bang on my forehead which required surgery! At this point I heard the lesson loud & clear. I needed to slow down. I dropped a day in clinic and reduced my hours at the shop. I focused on being namaste in life & health.
From an achievement lens (because namaste doesn’t mean I can’t still be a high achiever) I was part of paving the way for my naturopathic staff to move to the health professional award to acknowledge their role in this setting, I was appointed an Associate Professional Fellow to the centre of Naturopathic medicine at Southern Cross Uni, continued my clinical supervision to the Integrative Medicine Masters students & volunteered to be a co chair for the herbal medicine group through my professional association, NHAA.
I’m feeling much better, healthier and ready for 2026 with some big changes and opportunities that have arisen. I accepted a position as a teaching associate at Southern Cross University teaching clinical studies for the Bachelors & Masters degree for Naturopathy, I have taken a new role at a Village Medicine in Brunswick Heads alongside Dr Cat Quinn, an integrative doctor I’ve admired for a long time and I’ve opened up more availability via my online clinic. These changes mean I’m finishing up at The Health Lodge after four incredible years. I really look forward to this year and hopefully I can be more active here (can you tell I’m trying by my garden stories?!).
Thanks for following along ♥️
