When someone says they want to lose weight, it's rarely just about the number on the scales.

What they're really saying is:
• I want to feel like myself again.
• I want more energy
• I want to keep up with my kids
• I want confidence when I get dressed in the morning.
• I want to feel comfortable in my own skin.

The challenge is that weight gain isn't always simply about eating less and moving more.

Often there are underlying factors at play that aren't immediately obvious, such as insulin resistance, blood sugar imbalances, thyroid dysfunction, chronic stress, poor sleep, inflammation, nutrient deficiencies, or hormonal changes.

This is why guessing rarely works.

Understanding what's happening beneath the surface allows us to create a personalised plan based on your biology, that supports your body, rather than fighting against it.

Because lasting results come from addressing the cause, not just the symptom. Let me help develop a personalised plan for you. Amanda

It sounds backwards… but under eating can absolutely contribute to weight gain for some women.

When the body isn’t getting enough nourishment consistently, it can start affecting things like:

• Blood sugar regulation
• Stress hormones like cortisol
• Energy production
• Muscle mass
• Cravings and appetite signals
• Hormonal balance
Many women end up stuck in a cycle of:

Skipping meals → running on caffeine → feeling exhausted → intense cravings later in the day → overeating at night → guilt → starting again Monday.

On top of that, chronic under eating can leave the body feeling stressed and depleted, while reduced muscle mass can also impact metabolic health over time.

Your body needs nourishment to function well, these are things I can help with. Amanda ✨

Snapshot of life lately 🌊 🐚

A friend's birthday celebration in Noosa with good food, some cocktails and great company (without the kids). Also a quiet morning before checking out to read my book.

PS. Loved our seafood lunch and special GF dessert

Everything else in your life runs with precision.

School drop offs.
Work.
Appointments.
Running a household.

Remembering everyone else’s needs before your own.

You try to be “good” with food. You avoid the foods you think you shouldn’t eat. You indulge every now and then, but overall? You feel like you’re trying. Yet somehow, the weight keeps creeping up. Your energy feels lower. Your body feels harder to understand than it used to.

And for so many women over 40, this becomes frustrating because they start blaming themselves. But often, it’s not a lack of discipline. Hormones shift. Stress impacts the body differently. Sleep changes. Muscle mass declines. Years of under-eating and dieting can affect metabolism and blood sugar regulation.

Sometimes the answer isn’t eating less. It’s supporting your body better with personalised support.

People talk a lot about nervous system regulation like it has to be another thing to add to their to-do list.

Sometimes it’s simpler than we think.
•Fresh air.
• Nature.
• A slow moment.
• Your dog curled up beside you.

What’s one simple thing you do to help bring balance back into your day? I would love to know in the comments 👇

Real feedback about Metabolic Balance 🙌

Yes, weight release is a big part of MB, but what people are often most surprised by is everything else that improves along the way.

•More energy.
• Less inflammation and pain.
• Better sleep.
• Reduced bloating.
• Fewer cravings.
• Clearer thinking.
• Feeling more like themselves again.

Because supporting your metabolism isn’t just about changing the number on the scales, it’s about supporting the body as a whole.

After fasting all night, your hormones are basically like: “Hey… where’s the food?”
If it doesn’t come? They start causing a little chaos.

Think:
• cortisol (stress hormone) staying high
• blood sugar doing its own rollercoaster thing
• cravings kicking in by 10am
• energy dropping off a cliff by 3pm

Especially in perimenopause and menopause, this matters more than ever. Skipping breakfast can make hormone imbalances feel louder, mood, energy, hunger… all of it.

The solution isn’t complicated. A proper breakfast (with protein, fats + fibre) = calmer hormones, steadier energy, fewer “why am I like this today” moments.

Coffee is welcome…She just needs some backup 🤍
