⚡️ ENERGY & RECOVERY: Why Eating Enough During Injury is Important

Muscle Repair Needs Energy
Even during rest, injury recovery increases energy demands—by up to 20% in severe cases!

👍 Muscle Protein Synthesis (MPS) is energy-hungry!

Young male: ~485 kcal/day
Active elderly woman: ~120 kcal/day

Energy Deficit = Muscle Loss
A 20% drop in calories → almost 20% drop in MPS
