Abortion is legal in Australia. But for too many women, it's not accessible.

In 2025, only 13% of abortion service costs at MSI Australia were covered by Medicare. 53% came directly out of the pockets of women — at one of the most vulnerable moments of their lives.

Women aren't waiting to be saved. They're making decisions and seeking care. Our job is to make sure the system doesn't stop her acting on her decision.

The MSI Choice Fund is the only national safety net for Australian women and pregnant people who can't access care. Your donation removes the barrier.

MSI Australia plays an integral part Australia’s abortion rights movement and the fight for reproductive justice for all. We advocate for access for all women and pregnant people - meeting care needs where systems fail.

MSI Australia and MS Health CEO Adurty Rao, alongside SheDecides and Sexual and Reproductive Health Australia, will be facilitating Yarning our histories of bodily autonomy on Thursday 30th April 2026 at 12-1:30pm

Australia’s abortion rights history is complex and diverse, covering state-based decriminalisation, critical legal rulings, and grass roots driven activism – one movement, many stories.

The forum inspired by First Nations yarning methodology will encourage participants to share experiences within the abortion rights movement, contributing to Abortion Archives’ Australian collection.
