5 Things to Tell Yourself When You Feel Excessive Guilt — and How to Respond

Negative Thoughts (When Feeling Excessive Guilt)
1. I am a failure. Everything happens because of me.
2. I am responsible for everyone’s sadness around me.
3. Everyone will hate me and reject me because of this mistake.
4. I must be perfect, otherwise I don’t deserve respect.
5. The project failed because of me, and I should have prevented it.

***********

Rational and Positive Response (According to CBT)
1. Everyone makes mistakes. One mistake does not make me a failure; it is an opportunity to learn.
2. I am only responsible for my own actions. I am not responsible for other people’s feelings or reactions.
3. Not everyone focuses on my mistakes. True friends understand and forgive.
4. Perfection is an unrealistic goal. Being human means learning and growing continuously.
5. Projects are complex and many factors influence them. I did my part and I am only responsible for my own role.

********

Building Psychological Resilience to Prevent Burnout

Burnout does not happen suddenly…
It is the result of ongoing pressure, emotional exhaustion, and a sense of lost meaning.

That is why psychological resilience is not “harsh strength.”
It is a conscious, inner flexibility.

Phase One: Reorganising Boundaries

Burnout is often caused by weak or unclear boundaries.
You learn to say “no” without guilt.
You separate your professional role from your human worth.
You reduce constant rescuing of others.

Resilience does not mean enduring without limits…
It means choosing what you are willing to endure.

Phase Two: Building Meaning

One of the most important elements of resilience is commitment to meaning rather than identifying as a victim.

Ask yourself:
Why am I doing this?
Does my role have value?
What message am I trying to offer?

Loss of meaning is the fastest path to burnout.

Why Trying to Control Everything Increases Anxiety

One of the biggest sources of anxiety is the belief that we must control everything around us.

In reality, anxiety often increases when:
• We try to control things that are outside our control
• We fight against reality instead of accepting it
• We keep asking “Why is this happening?” instead of “How can I respond to this?”

In Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), this struggle is called non-acceptance of reality.
And this resistance is often the fuel that keeps anxiety going.

This does not mean we approve of painful situations.
It means we stop fighting what already exists — so we can use our energy more wisely.

How Does DBT Help with Anxiety?

DBT teaches four practical skill areas that help us regulate emotions and reduce anxiety:

1. Mindfulness
Learning to notice what is happening right now — without judgment.

2. Radical Acceptance
Acknowledging reality as it is, even when we don’t like it.

3. Distress Tolerance
Building skills to cope with intense emotions without making things worse.

4. Emotion Regulation
Understanding our emotions and learning how to manage them more effectively.

Anxiety often grows when we resist reality.
It softens when we learn to respond instead of react.

You cannot control everything.
But you can learn to regulate how you relate to it.

Mana — The Light Within

In Mandaeism, Mana is more than energy.
It is mind, spirit, and inner light.
It is the luminous awareness placed within every human being.

Life’s hardships — trauma, loss, displacement, stress — can make that light feel dim.

But Mana is not destroyed.
It may be tired.
It may need care.
But it remains.

Wellbeing is not only about reducing symptoms.
It is about reconnecting with your Mana —
your dignity, your resilience, your inner knowing.

At Manda — You Belong. You Matter.
we honour both cultural wisdom and clinical care.

You carry light.
You carry Mana.
And that light matters.

———

You Can Say: “I’m in Pain”… Without Saying: “I’m Broken.”

Sometimes the hardest part of healing isn’t the pain itself — it’s the story we attach to it.

You can say “I’m hurting” without saying:
❌ “I’m bad.”
❌ “I’m guilty.”
❌ “I deserved what happened.”

This distinction matters — because it protects us from two dangerous traps:

Denial, which delays recovery
Self-blame, which destroys inner dignity

Your pain is real.
But it is not your identity.

What happened to you may have been deeply painful…
but it is not proof that you are wrong, weak, or unworthy.

✨ Pain is an experience — not a definition of who you are.

You belong.
You matter.
And your healing is possible.

———-

This post in three languges (English, Arabic, Farsi).

————-

What drains us the most is not hardship itself —
it’s trying to control what was never ours to control.

The past.
The future.
People’s opinions.
Their moods, choices, feelings, or what they think about us.

All of that sits outside our control.

But there is a smaller, quieter circle that truly shapes our lives —
the circle of what is in our hands.

🟢 Our thoughts
🟢 The way we speak to ourselves
🟢 Our beliefs and values
🟢 Our words and reactions
🟢 What we allow into our minds
🟢 How we treat others
🟢 How we choose to grow

Inside this inner circle lives our power.
Inside it lives our influence.
And from here, real change begins.

Often, we exhaust ourselves fighting what cannot be changed,
while neglecting what can be nurtured and strengthened.

Wisdom is not controlling everything around us —
wisdom is knowing where to place our energy.

Every moment spent chasing what is beyond our control
is a moment taken away from building ourselves.

🌿 Remember:
Inner peace does not come from controlling the world.
It comes from learning to gently, steadily care for yourself.

You belong.
You matter.
And your inner world is worth protecting.

8 Habits That Silently Destroy Your Brain

1) Living in darkness
Not getting enough sunlight disrupts your body clock and weakens your mood and focus.

2) Overconsuming negative news
Your brain isn’t designed to process disasters all day. Accumulated anxiety steals mental clarity.

3) Constantly raising headphone volume
It causes nervous system strain, distraction, and a gradual decline in the brain’s sensitivity to stimulation.

4) Social isolation
The brain feeds on human connection. Long-term loneliness weakens it, just like an unused muscle.

5) Spending long hours in front of screens
Excess stimulation, unbalanced dopamine, and reduced ability to focus deeply.

6) Too much sugar
Repeated energy spikes and crashes, brain fog, and a decline in cognitive performance.

7) Lack of movement
The brain needs movement to pump blood and oxygen. Prolonged stillness dulls it.

8 ) Poor sleep
No strong memory, no focus, and no emotional stability without deep, consistent sleep.

Summary

Your brain doesn’t collapse suddenly.
It slowly wears down day by day through habits that seem “normal.”
