We’re back at Tolland Community Centre this Sunday from 11am–2pm. 🙌🏼

Come down for a BBQ, a chat and a chance to connect with blokes in the MMG community.

No judgement, no pressure — just a space to talk, listen, support each other and keep breaking down the stigma around men’s mental health.

Come along and be part of it. 💙

Hope.

There was a time in my life when I couldn’t see it.

When the pain felt like it was never going to end, and tomorrow didn’t feel worth looking forward to.

These days, when life gets tough, I try to remind myself that things can change. Hard days pass. I don’t have to fix everything at once.

Sometimes I just need to hold on and get through today, trusting that tomorrow might be a little better.

That’s what hope means to me. 🙌🏼

H.O.P.E.

Hold On, Pain Ends. 💙

“If we were told from the very beginning that childhood defines adult mental health, we would take care to be more loving to a child’s soul”

It costs nothing to be kind. 💯

Be kind to those you come across throughout your day. You don’t know what they may be going through behind closed doors or the weight they may be carrying.

A smile.
A kind word.
A little patience.
A bit of understanding.

It costs you nothing, but it could mean everything to someone else 💙.

Real mates don’t encourage you to drink and drug when you are trying to stay sober. 💯🙌🏼

*Warning - talk of su***de*

This time of the year is very reflective for me. In August 2018 my life changed forever. After many years of battling with and neglecting my mental health, I attempted to end my life.

Since that day, I’ve had many ups and downs in recovery. There have been many learning curves and the journey of recovery is never straight forward. Throughout the journey came the founding of the Murrumbidgee Men’s Group to help other men who may be struggling in the hope they do not get to that crisis point that I experienced.

I don’t shy away from what happened in 2018 as it has made me into the person I am today and drives my passion for mental wellness in our community. I choose to recover out loud so that it may help someone else find hope and inspiration through their dark times.

I’m grateful for each and every day as it gives me the opportunity to show those around me, especially my children that although you may fall in life, it is possible to get back up and keep going 🙌🏼💙
