Jayde Parkman (Lead Yourself Home) and I welcome you back to dance at the Pleasure Heals studio this Wednesday 29th July at 7pm; and every Wednesday evening thereafter.
Jayde mentioned how she danced every weekend in her younger days and then it fell away, missing it so much.
Until very recently (the last few years), I’d never really danced at all! I’ve now discovered how soothing, nurturing, freeing and emotionally regulating it can be, as well as physically rewarding.
If you’re curious, we’d love you to come along and join us!

I used to love to dance. In my early 20's I'd go out every weekend just so I could dance. It was more than just having fun, it was something deeper, a release, an expression. I really didn't understand it but I always remember thinking that I never wanted to be someone who didn't dance. That life wouldn't be fufilling if I wasn't going out dancing every weekend.
But somewhere along the way I became that person who no longer danced. The clubs were no longer somewhere I resonated with and life was filled with so many other things and little ones. Yes I'd dance occasionally around the house which felt good, but I'd lost the art of getting lost in the music and the medicine it was for my soul.
The first time I attended dance I felt a bit awkward, but my body still remembered. I remember at the end of that first session the feeling in my body, the release, the remembering. The more I went, the deeper the practice became for me. A coming home to myself.
The releasing of emotions, stuck energy, tight muscles. The oxytocyin moving through my body. The pleasure in being free to move my body, dance and release. Not to perform, not to be watched, not for anyone but me. I felt alive again. I connected with parts of me that I thought were gone.
I've cried, I've laughed, I've raged, I've sang, I've laid still in the rhythm whilst my mind takes me on a meditive journey. I've found answers to questions, I've understood myself better.
There is something so deeply healing and nourishing about movement and dance.
If you are someone who used to love to dance or still does. Or someone who has never let themselves dance but is curious about seeing what's here for you. I hope to see you there.
With love,
Jayde 🤍✨️
