It's very easy to fall into the trap of comparing your movement journey to others around you. People may move smoother, have bigger range, use heavier loads on the body or progress quicker than you... And that's ok!

Your movement journey and timeline for progress is your own, embrace your experience and move at your pace.

Comparison is the thief of joy.

It's such a common phrase but sometimes we just need that little reminder.

There's no growth in complacency - sometimes you need to push through the discomfort to rise above and see what else.youre capable of.

Going to classes on a regular basis (and teaching them) not only improves your practice but creates connection to self and community in others.

Tonight in one of my classes, we focused on "holding space" for ourselves. Sitting with ourselves honestly, without trying to "fix" what doesn't feel pleasant, to feel the feelings, accept them as they arise without judgement and to let them move through you.

It takes courage to sit with uncomfortable emotions, and be truthful with yourself.

To those who were in class this evening, ❤️
What a release ❤️❤️

Today is "The Big Freeze" happening at the MCG. This annual event raises awareness and much needed funds for research towards Motor Neurone Disease.

There is currently no cure for this monster of a disease so get out there, purchase a beanie or even better, make a donation.

Thoughts and prayers to those impacted by MND ❤️🙏🏼

There are many verses and sayings circulating the globe regarding the dangers of associating with bad company.

Over my years of holistic counselling practice, I've heard all sorts of reasons as to why people continue relationships with those who aren't really bringing positivity into the dynamic.

However, have you ever stopped to consider what else you're continuously exposing yourself to and how it's impacting you?

As you grow and evolve, you might notice small things like social profiles you previously enjoyed or loved, now no longer align with your values or perhaps make you feel a negative shift in your energy.

Carve out some time in your week to do a mini review of accounts your following and remove those that disrupt your inner harmony and balance.

Life's too precious to surround yourself with things that cause harm.

If you come to a reformer class of mine, you'll notice I give spring 'options' throughout the exercise set ups. 🌀

Sometimes I'm questioned as to why I do this or why I will sometimes tweak people's springs after a few reps.

Hear (read 🤣) my some of my reasons "why".

1. Everybody's body in my class is different- whether that is their strength, flexibility or coordination, experience on a reformer or your build. By having options for spring selection, it makes the exercises accessible to all participants. 💪

2. Our bodies vary from session to session (especially for women). Perhaps you've been to a class prior to mine which left you sore or tired? 😮‍💨😴 Acknowledge those sensations in the body and know that you MAY need to adjust your springs to accommodate how your body is responding... On the flip side of that, perhaps your consistent efforts have seen your progress and therefore, you need to take a more challenging spring choice. 🏋️‍♀️

3. Form is key! 🔑 I would rather you change the spring and focus on form and alignment, then let your ego step in the way.

With all of the above, it's important to know that that just because your springs maybe be different to the person next to you, doesn't mean you aren't doing a great job!

Continue to keep your communication open with your instructors about how things feel spring wise, within your body and even just how you're feeling within yourself prior to classes beginning!

❤️❤️❤️

April 25th, ANZAC day. Dawn Service.

Today is a day about pausing in respect and admiration of those who sacrificed to protect and defend, not only from WW1 but all conflicts since. For those who served and fought, or continue you.

They shall grow not old,
As we that are left grow old,
Age shall not weary them,
Not the years condemn,
At the going down of the sun,
And in the morning,
We will remember them

Lest We Forget. 🇦🇺
