Local Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Services in the Illawarra 🍃🍂

These services provide a range of different supports including social, physical, emotional and cultural support.

GAWURA
- Helps address domestic violence to keep families safe
-Provides advocacy, cultural services and youth support

Illawarra Aboriginal Cooperation
- Aged Cares Services, Cultural Centre and Services, Housing and Homelessness, Myimbar Permanency Support, Noogaleek and Winnaggay and Warrigal Employment

Binji and Boori
-Supports women who are pregnant or who have children up to age of 5
-Services include; child and development checks, mental health and wellbeing support, health checks and more.

Yilabara
-Offers a range of culturally appropriate employment, training to community services that are designed to create really opportunities for community members

SACYA
- Provides a range of programs to support Aboriginal children and families.

Illawarra Aboriginal Medical Service
- Provides health, dental, community and cooperate services

🌿Workshop: Conscious Communication will be held at SMMHC on the 28th of April at 9:30am.

This workshop will be led by one of our friendly Peer Workers to share ways to be more aware and present during conversations with others.

Your Identity Peer Workshop is coming up on April the 24th at 11am.

The workshop will involve a paper-weaving activity guided by our friendly Peer Worker. The aim is to support participants to explore identity, meaning and recovery beyond diagnosis or prescribed roles.
