3 things dancing has taught me about life:

1. Control isn't the same as trust.
Trust is letting go of needing to know exactly how things will unfold.

2. Expression is more important than perfection.
People connect with what's real, not what's flawless.

3. The magic happens when you stop overthinking.
The best moments happen when you get out of your head and into the experience.

Turns out these lessons apply to a lot more than dancing.

For years he's watched me bounce, shake, sway, move energy, and talk about the benefits of these practices.

Today he finally joined in. πŸ˜‚

What might look a little silly from the outside is actually one of my favourite ways to warm up the body, wake up the nervous system, cultivate energy, and prepare for deeper movement.

Exactly what we needed for this 3-degree misty mountain morning

And honestly?

Everything feels better when you do it with someone you love. ❀️

Something I wish more women knew about dancing...

It's not about performing.

It's not about getting the steps right.
It's not about looking sexy.
It's not about being graceful.
And it's definitely not about looking good.

It's about feeling.

Feeling your feet on the earth.
Feeling your breath move through your body.
Feeling the emotions you've been too busy to acknowledge.
Feeling the tension you've been carrying in your shoulders, jaw, hips, and heart.

We spend so much of our lives in our heads, thinking our way through everything.

Dance brings us back into our bodies.

When you move freely, something starts to shift.

Stress begins to unravel.
Stuck energy starts moving.
Emotions that have been sitting beneath the surface find a pathway out.
Parts of yourself that have been dormant begin to wake up.

I've seen women arrive carrying the weight of motherhood, work, relationships, expectations, and life itself...

Then leave lighter.
Softer.
More alive.

Not because they learned how to dance.

But because they remembered how to feel.

And I think that's what so many of us are truly craving.

Not another thing to achieve.

A chance to come home to ourselves.

A chance to just be!!

Get up and dance today!

Three ways Neigong has changed my life:

✨ Presence.
I spend less time lost in my head and more time actually here. Feeling the sun on my skin. Hearing my children's laughter. Fully experiencing the moments that make up a life.

✨ Energy.
Not the wired, coffee-fuelled kind. A steady, grounded energy that carries me through my days with more vitality, resilience, and joy.

✨ Connection.
To my body. To nature. To the rhythms of life. Neigong has become a daily reminder that I don't need to force or chase.
I simply need to return to myself.

What started as a practice became a way of living.

Have you ever tried Neigong? Join me this wendesday at 6:15pm for Back to Body ✨️✨️ comment ☺️ to secure your spot
