As the sky burns red, so do I.
It has been a hectic few weeks here, with both parents needing medical attention and a barrage of tasks requiring my undivided attention and focus.
I am so grateful for my wonderful Seekers who have flexibly accommodated last minute changes, particularly those Seið Sisters who are approaching the end of their initial walk through the fire.
I, too, am walking through the fire. My current research topic centres on the silencing of women through sexual violence in ancient Rome. A topic often skirted around by scholars, this dive into the horror, the mythological & real lived experiences of women (across the social hierarchy) has challenged me, shocked me, unmade me and made me again in strength.
As the Norse Goddess Rune Oracle was born from the ashes of feminine rage, so too is something being born from the ashes of an ancient r**e culture whose embers still spark violence today.
As the sky burns, so does my passion. So does my rage.
I am not absent, I am just being deconstructed and ripped apart, carefully weaving and stitching back together, before stepping back into the flames.
As Gullveig, I suffer.
As Heiðr, I rise.
