Some candidates have received their MRCPCH Clinical exam seat within just one year of passing the AKP. Therefore, I strongly recommend starting your Clinical preparation early. You should not delay starting your preparation.

Even if you don't feel fully ready, beginning early will help you build your skills gradually. If you receive a Clinical seat sooner than expected, you'll be well prepared and won't face unnecessary pressure.
