💩 বাচ্চার পায়খানা শক্ত? ২–৩ দিন পরপর হয়? পায়খানা করতে ভয় পায় বা কান্না করে?

“বড় হলে ঠিক হয়ে যাবে”——ভেবে দীর্ঘদিন অপেক্ষা করবেন না।

শিশুদের Constipation বা কোষ্ঠকাঠিন্য খুবই common। বেশিরভাগ ক্ষেত্রেই এটি functional, অর্থাৎ বড় কোনো রোগ ছাড়াই হয়। কিন্তু দীর্ঘদিন চলতে থাকলে শিশুর পায়খানা করার ভয়, stool withholding এবং painful defecation-এর একটি cycle তৈরি হতে পারে।

🔍 কীভাবে বুঝবেন শিশুর constipation হতে পারে?

✅ শক্ত বা খুব বড় পায়খানা
✅ পায়খানা করতে ব্যথা বা কান্না
✅ অনেকদিন পরপর পায়খানা হওয়া
✅ পায়খানা চেপে রাখা, পা শক্ত/ক্রস করে দাঁড়ানো বা লুকিয়ে থাকা
✅ পেট ব্যথা বা পেট ফাঁপা
✅ অন্তর্বাসে অল্প অল্প পায়খানা লেগে যাওয়া
✅ পায়খানার সাথে সামান্য fresh blood : অনেক সময় a**l fissure-এর কারণে হতে পারে

🥛 শুধু পানি বেশি খেলেই কি ঠিক হবে?

সবসময় নয়। দীর্ঘদিনের constipation-এ শক্ত পায়খানা rectum-এ জমে থাকতে পারে। তখন শুধু পানি, ফল বা শাকসবজি দিয়ে সমস্যার সমাধান নাও হতে পারে। শিশুর বয়স ও সমস্যার তীব্রতা অনুযায়ী চিকিৎসা প্রয়োজন হতে পারে।

🏠 বাড়িতে কী করবেন?

🥦 বয়স অনুযায়ী ফল, সবজি ও fibre-rich খাবার দিন
💧 পর্যাপ্ত পানি ও তরল দিন
🚽 Toilet-trained শিশুকে খাবারের পর নিয়মিত ৫–১০ মিনিট toilet-এ বসার অভ্যাস করান
🦶 পায়ের নিচে ছোট stool/footrest দিন, যাতে হাঁটু hip-এর চেয়ে একটু ওপরে থাকে
❤️ পায়খানা না হলে বকা, ভয় দেখানো বা শাস্তি দেবেন না
💊 নিজের ইচ্ছায় বারবার suppository, e***a বা laxative ব্যবহার না করে চিকিৎসকের পরামর্শ নিন

🚨 কখন দ্রুত চিকিৎসকের পরামর্শ প্রয়োজন?

🔴 জন্মের পর থেকেই পায়খানার সমস্যা
🔴 নবজাতকের প্রথম পায়খানা হতে অস্বাভাবিক দেরি
🔴 বারবার পেট ফুলে যাওয়া ও সবুজ বমি
🔴 ওজন না বাড়া বা ওজন কমে যাওয়া
🔴 উল্লেখযোগ্য/বারবার রক্তপাত
🔴 খুব বেশি পেট ব্যথা বা অসুস্থ দেখানো
🔴 নিয়মিত চিকিৎসার পরও constipation না কমা

কিছু শিশুর ক্ষেত্রে Hirschsprung disease বা অন্য কোনো underlying condition বাদ দেওয়ার প্রয়োজন হতে পারে। তাই দীর্ঘদিনের বা অস্বাভাবিক constipation অবহেলা করবেন না।

📌 মনে রাখবেন:
Constipation-এর চিকিৎসায় শুধু “পায়খানা করানো” নয়, লক্ষ্য হলো শিশুকে আবার ব্যথাহীন ও নিয়মিত bowel habit-এ ফিরিয়ে আনা।
