There are moments in life when the weight of our struggles feels unbearable. During those times, it can be deeply painful when the people around us seem unable to understand what we are going through or fail to respond in the way we hoped.
We may ask ourselves:
“Why don’t they believe me?”
“Why can’t they see how much I’m hurting?”
These feelings are valid.
At the same time, it is important to remember that not everyone has the emotional capacity, awareness, or experience to fully understand another person’s inner world. Sometimes, we expect others to provide a level of support that they may not know how to give.
This does not mean your pain is any less real.
It simply means that the support you need may not always come from the people you expected.
Mental wellness often begins when we learn to:
• Accept that others have limitations.
• Express our needs clearly.
• Seek support from trusted and emotionally capable people.
• Build inner resilience and self-compassion.
Healing does not always come from being understood by everyone.
Sometimes, healing begins when we stop expecting everyone to understand and start focusing on caring for ourselves.
Your feelings matter.
Your struggles are real.
And even if not everyone understands, you still deserve support, compassion, and hope.
