Notice to the Public
Increase in Flu Cases

Our hospital has recently observed a sudden increase in the number of patients presenting with flu-like symptoms, including fever, cough, sore throat, runny nose, and body aches.

To help prevent the spread of infection, we encourage everyone to:

✅ Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
✅ Wash your hands frequently with soap and water or use hand sanitizer.
✅ Stay hydrated and get adequate rest.
✅ Seek medical attention if symptoms become severe or persist.
✅ Stay at home if you are feeling unwell to avoid spreading the illness to others.

Please avoid:

❌ Spitting in public places.
❌ Sharing personal items such as cups, bottles, or utensils.
❌ Visiting crowded places when you are sick.
❌ Ignoring flu symptoms and continuing normal activities when unwell.

For the safety of our patients, visitors, and healthcare workers, all individuals visiting the hospital are kindly requested to wear a face mask and wash or sanitize their hands before entering and when leaving the hospital premises.

Together, we can help reduce the spread of flu and protect our community. Thank you for your cooperation.

World Immunization Week 2026

We marked World Immunization Week by conducting a sensitization program on Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD), reaching over 50 participants, most of them mothers from Drametse Gewog.

The World Health Organization-supported VPD Programme in Bhutan continues to play a crucial role in reducing child morbidity and mortality. Through the Expanded Programme on Immunization (EPI), free vaccines are provided against diseases such as measles, polio, tuberculosis, hepatitis B, and diphtheria.

Bhutan has achieved remarkable success with high immunization coverage, even in remote and mountainous regions—leading to the elimination of neonatal tetanus and better control of outbreaks like measles.

Beyond protection, the programme strengthens our healthcare system through improved cold chain management, disease surveillance, and increased community awareness. It is a key pillar in achieving universal health coverage and ensuring that no one is left behind.

💉 Immunization saves lives.
💙 Let’s continue to protect our children and communities.

The nation celebrates Civil Service Wellness Day today, and our staff joined fellow civil servants at Drametse Higher Secondary School for the occasion.

Some of our team took part in the wellness walk, while others joined an aerobic dance session. The day served as a reminder of the importance of staying active, connected, and committed to our well-being.

As civil servants, we reaffirm our pledge to serve the Tsawa-Sum with dedication and integrity.

Happy Civil Service Wellness Day!

The hospital has successfully initiated a sensitization program and contact tracing on Tuberculosis, communicable diseases, and oral health across the three gewogs of Drametse, Balam, and Narang with support from National TB control programme, MOH. The sessions are being conducted by the hospital’s GDMO and Dental Hygienist.

This outreach program aims to cover a wide audience, including the general public, three monastic institutions, and five schools across the three gewogs, ensuring comprehensive community engagement and awareness.

Today, the team conducted sensitization sessions in two chewogs under Drametse Gewog, with a total of 80 participants attending the program. The sessions were well received and actively engaged the community.

The sensitization program will continue in the remaining locations over the coming days.
