HEALING IS A PROCESS
The truth we don’t want to face or understand is that you cannot put a healing deadline for a broken heart, healing requires time and a lot of it.
Healing doesn’t follow a calendar, it doesn’t respond to pressure or activities and it cannot be rushed just because you now feel its been long. You break your partner's heart be ready to stay with a broken piece for a long time.
Yes, Sometimes it takes months, sometimes years, sometimes it can feel like forever but you must be prepared to live with the version of them that carries that pain. A piece of her/him may feel different, quieter and more guarded. And that broken piece does not just disappear because you apologized. It stays in your home, in your conversations, in the silence between words.
And here is the hard truth, you don’t get to demand when that piece becomes whole again, you only get the responsibility to help mend it with your faithful works not just spoken word. I am sorry doesn't mean a thing at times, ill fix it don't move your part. Sometimes it takes fixing yourself than trying to fix your partner. He/She is not the problem, you are. Fixing yourself is the best medicine for your relationship. Try stop fixing your part and work on yourself. To them at that point they see a difference being, o skheberesh, you are a dog my man, the devil himself, heart breaker. All they want is their partner back. Fix yourself.
Healing is not something you control, it’s something you commit to every day, consistently and patiently. It can take more than that. It will even take your peace away, take your emotions away, it takes a fragile hands to mend a fragile heart because the process is too fragile more than you can fathom.
One mistake, one repeated behavior, one moment that resembles the pain you caused, can bring everything rushing back. Your mistake can overshadow the progress, silence the good you’ve been trying to do and reopen wounds that were slowly closing and suddenly the things you do right may no longer feel genuine to your partner. Your efforts may feel like performance. Your kindness may feel like strategy. Your love may feel like an attempt to be forgiven not an expression of who you truly are.
Healing is not forgetting everything, not erasing pain or memory but it is to say im forgiving you and for the sake of my peace I want to start over. Hence why you partner can count all the things you did, they never forgot them they decided to let go of the pain and start all over..
And if you are not careful starting over might not include you in, it might be I dont want you any more. Not because I dont love you but because you hurt me and its enough, now I want to regain my strength and regain my peace, build myself coz you failed.
Healing requires consistency when it’s inconvenient, it requires patience when you’re misunderstood and it requires humility when you feel like you’ve already done enough.
Mr Mene, ba bangwe we are in relationship le di khudu, hela ha o re 1, e itotlella mo sekgapheng and the is nothing you can do, when you pour your love it flows hela ka hantle ga se kgapha ete gao dire sepe. Consistency will be needed here, unfailing love, even when you dont feel like. You will have to do it.
It will demand your real time, not rushed time, it will consume you, e go chotlhe, e gokgwe, e go chotlhe hape ego metse e gokgwe gape because it demands your faithfulness, not just loyalty to the relationship, but faithfulness to change, to growth, to becoming a safe place again.
You will have to show up even when it feels like nothing is improving, you will love even when you are not fully trusted yet, you will have to give without immediate return.
