It’s Winter 🥶 ❄️ Stay Warm, Clean & Protected 🩺
We are in the flu and winter season, it is important to stay alert and protect ourselves from communicable illnesses and viruses. Cold weather often increases the spread of infections such as flu, colds, and other respiratory diseases because people spend more time indoors and in close contact with others.
These illnesses can spread quickly through coughing, sneezing, touching contaminated surfaces, or close personal contact. While some infections may seem mild, they can become serious, especially for children, the elderly, and people with weakened immune systems.
To reduce the risk of infection:
• Wash your hands regularly with soap and water or use hand sanitizer.
• Cover your mouth and nose when coughing or sneezing.
• Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
• Wear a mask if you have symptoms or are in crowded places.
• Keep your surroundings clean and well ventilated.
• Eat healthy foods, stay hydrated, exercise, and get enough rest to strengthen your immune system.
• Stay home when feeling unwell to prevent spreading illness to others.
• Consider getting recommended flu vaccinations.
Prevention starts with each of us. By taking simple precautions, we can protect ourselves, our families, and our communities during the winter and flu season.
⚠️ Think about your health always, winter is a season where many communicable illness and health risks can be spread, be safe 😷
