The 10-month assignment will support an innovation programme designed to generate practical, youth-led and scalable solutions for improved waste management and Botswana’s transition towards a circular economy, while strengthening green entrepreneurship, innovation and pathways for promising solutions to move towards implementation.
As the 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐭𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐩 & 𝐇𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧 𝐋𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭, the selected consultant will guide the programme from design through delivery, including:
• Designing the participant screening and selection process
• Developing and facilitating the Innovation Bootcamp
• Facilitating the Hackathon and supporting the judging process
• Supporting mentorship, solution refinement and prototype development
• Strengthening business models, commercialisation and investment readiness
• Providing post-Hackathon technical advisory support to selected teams
𝐖𝐡𝐨 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐰𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫?
Applicants should hold an 𝐚𝐝𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐝𝐞𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞, 𝐌𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐞𝐫, in innovation, entrepreneurship, business development, economics, management, environmental sustainability or a related field, with at least 𝟕 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐫𝐞𝐥𝐞𝐯𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞 in areas such as innovation programming, entrepreneurship development, start-up support, incubation or acceleration, or hackathon and bootcamp design and facilitation. Experience in 𝐜𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐲, 𝐰𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐞 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲-𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 will be an added advantage.
