UCCSA DONATES ESSENTIAL MATERNITY SUPPLIES TO MAHALAPYE DISTRICT HOSPITAL

On Wednesday, the United Congregational Church of Southern Africa (UCCSA) Mahalapye congregation donated essential maternity supplies to Mahalapye District Hospital in support of mothers and newborn babies. The donation included newborn baby clothing, receiving blankets, toiletries, sanitary essentials, surgical spirit, coarse salt, and catheters for use in emergency maternity cases.
Speaking during the handover, UCCSA Mission Convener for Mahalapye UCCSA, Ms Mahosi said the donation forms part of the church's commitment to serving both God and the community through acts of compassion. She noted that the church recognises the challenges faced by the healthcare system and hopes the donation will help ease the burden on the hospital while improving the care provided to mothers and their babies.
Receiving the donation, Acting Hospital Superintendent Dr Ado Kabatunanga expressed appreciation to the congregation, describing the donation as timely. She said the hospital occasionally receives expectant mothers who arrive without basic necessities such as baby receiving blankets and sanitary pads, making the donation particularly valuable. Dr Kabatunanga thanked the church for its generosity and encouraged it to continue supporting other hospital departments in the future
