The phrase comes from a late-night conversation with Nicodemus, a respected religious leader searching for answers. Jesus told him plainly, "Unless someone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."
Nicodemus responded with confusion, asking, "How can anyone be born when he is old?"
Jesus explained that being born again isn't a second physical birth, but a spiritual one: "Whatever is born of flesh is flesh, and whatever is born of Spirit is spirit."
This challenge from Jesus is still for us today — and it challenged me personally.
