Tansi! Carley nitisinihkâson. Tataskweyak Cree Nation oschi nina Hello! My name is Carley. I'm from Tataskweyak Cree Nation. Also known as Split Lake. I come from a Swampy Cree background. I'm 19 years old. I grew up in my reserve, until recently since moving to Winnipeg.
I started making my way into the modeling industry when I was 18. I auditioned for the Canadian Modeling and Talent convention (CMTC) and received a call back. Which where I can possibly get scouted by a modelling agency and gain valuable experience within the modelling world.
Along with that WKFW was doing casting calls so I took the opportunity and participated in the casting call. Then became an official model for SCl. I am going to Tokyo, Japan to walk in my first international runway show for SCI PH, Hi Tech MODA.
I was encouraged to start modelling by numerous people. With their beliefs and support I decided to take a chance.
I am currently pursuing Environmental Science at the University of Manitoba where I'm a full time student. Where my goal is to get a degree in Environmental Science, with hopes to continue my education moving onto Law.
I'm interested in WKFW because I see it as an opportunity to gain exposure. To be surrounded by like minded youth. I believe WKFW is a great step as I make my way into modelling. As Indigenous fashion is growing I'd like to be a part of that also.
SCI has pushed me out of my comfort zone. I gained more self confidence. They've taught me how to walk, and perfect my poses. Thanks to my mentors I'm making my way up there. Preparing me for Japan! I hope there are more modelling opportunities in my future.
My biggest goal is to represent my community. To show the youth that there are more opportunities outside of the reserve. With every step I take I carry my roots, teachings and my community.
We discovered Carley during the WKFW 2026 Bloom in the Heart of Canada.

More than a collection, this is a message to the young generation, dreamers, creators, and future leaders that your voice matters, your story is powerful, and your light is meant to shine.
