Families deserve support in feeding their babies safely 🤱🏾🍼👶🏻

ICYMI: CCPA-NS Research Associate Dr. Lesley Frank’s work on infant food insecurity in Nova Scotia was highlighted by CBC News last month. Dr. Frank’s Fed Family Lab is currently launching their Finding Formula project to the public on their social media Fed Family Lab and website.

Have you heard of silver nursing cups? 🩶

I received a message from the Silverette® company:
“Silverette® cups are the original. They’ve been handcrafted in Italy by fully licensed silversmiths since 2013, and they hold a genuine patent and trademark on their design. Most importantly, they are FDA-registered medical devices that underwent two years of clinical testing in a hospital in Padua, Italy before ever going to market. That’s not marketing language, that’s verifiable medical oversight.”

🤪 so what does that mean?!

It is important to know where your products are coming from. Some of the silver nursing cups on the market may be using other metals that can cause irritation, allergies, skin sensitivity, and may not actually help heal your sore ni***es.

If you have questions about using any products for your breastfeeding journey, or are struggling with sore ni***es, here are some tips:

1️⃣ What is actually causing your pain? Finding the root cause (poor latch, tongue tie, wrong pump fl**ge, etc.) will make sure the pain/damage doesn’t get worse
2️⃣ Call your friendly neighborhood IBCLC! Having a thorough feeding assessment can help you identify what is causing the pain and what steps to take to resolve it
3️⃣ An IBCLC can help you figure out if you need specific products/tools, and how to use them properly

Here is June's calendar!

The Mixing Bowl Crew is a beginner baking class which is currently full but we have a waitlist available.

We will also have a fiber arts and coffee morning on Tuesdays, bring your crocheting, sewing, knitting, cross stitch, whatever fiber or fabric project you have on the go.

Music with Adesse is a music therapy informed group which will be continuation of our want to make healing and wellness through music accessible to everyone.
