There's been a lot happening behind the scenes at All Things Speech lately, and we're finally catching up on some introductions! 💙

We're excited to officially introduce Prisca, one of our newest Speech-Language Pathology Assistants!

Prisca brings over four years of previous experience working as a Speech-Language Pathologist in India, along with a Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology. She has experience supporting children with a wide range of communication needs, with particular interests in early communication, autism, and AAC.

As an Avaz Certified AAC Professional, Prisca is passionate about helping children communicate in ways that work best for them. She values building meaningful relationships with children and families and creating a warm, supportive environment where learning is fun and engaging!

We're so happy to have Prisca as part of our growing team!

It's IEP season again! 📚

Your child's school team sees them in a setting their home team doesn't, and the professionals working with them outside of school often have information and perspectives that just don't come up in the classroom.

That's why collaboration matters so much.

If your child works with outside professionals, consider inviting them to the IEP meeting where it makes sense. Getting everyone in the same room (or same conversation) means observations get shared, strengths and needs get discussed, and goals can be set that actually make sense across all the places your child spends time.

Current All Things Speech families: If you'd like your SLP and/or OT to attend your child's IEP meeting and share input, please reach out as soon as you have a date. This is one of the busiest times of the year for us, and advance notice gives us the best chance of being able to attend. 💙

This is REALLY late, but...

Congratulations to Jadi on her acceptance into UBC's Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology program!

Jadi joined All Things Speech as a volunteer in spring 2025 and has supported our team in a variety of ways, from helping with social media and events to supporting our group programs. We have been so grateful for the time, care, and enthusiasm she has shared with our team and the families we support.

We're also very happy that Jadi will continue to be part of the All Things Speech community, supporting us at events when she can while completing her master's degree!

Congratulations again, Jadi! We're so excited to see where this next chapter takes you and will be cheering you on throughout your journey at UBC. 💙
