The Bank of Canada held the overnight rate steady today.

What does that mean in everyday terms?

If you have a variable mortgage or line of credit, there’s no rate change for you right now.

Fixed mortgage rates are a little different and can move for other reasons.

If you’re buying, renewing, or just wondering what this means for your mortgage, I’m always happy to chat.

Lil Archie Says 🐾

“Sometimes we need to think inside the box.”

Not every mortgage fits neatly within traditional lending guidelines. There may be another box worth looking inside — a B lender.

What is a B lender?

B lenders are alternative mortgage lenders that may be able to offer solutions for borrowers who may not meet traditional bank lending guidelines.

At Archie & Company Mortgages — we see you, not your credit challenges. ❤️

If your mortgage situation doesn't fit neatly into the traditional box, let's talk about your options.

Buddhist post:

IT TOOK ME 6 YEARS TO UNDERSTAND THIS...
I'LL TELL YOU IN 2 MINUTES

1. The less you say, the more your words matter.
People rarely remember who spoke the most. They remember those who spoke with wisdom, honesty, and purpose.

2. Don't take everything personally.
Most people are fighting battles you know nothing about. Their reactions often reflect their own struggles more than your worth.

3. What you focus on grows.
Feed your mind with gratitude, learning, and possibility. Your attention shapes the life you experience.

4. One day, your pain may make sense.
Today's heartbreak, failure, or disappointment may become tomorrow's wisdom, strength, and compassion.

5. Every person enters your life with a lesson.
Some teach you love. Some teach you patience. Some teach you boundaries. And some teach you what you should never accept again.

6. Never stop learning.
Stay curious. Read more. Ask questions. A growing mind keeps life meaningful and your perspective fresh.

7. You can't control everything—and that's okay.
Give your best effort where you can. Accept what you cannot change. Peace begins where resistance ends.

8. The right people won't ask you to betray yourself.
Healthy relationships allow you to grow without asking you to abandon your values, dreams, or self-respect.

9. Time is your greatest wealth.
Money can be earned again. Lost time never returns. Spend it on what truly matters.

10. At the end of the day, you must live with yourself.
Build your life around your character, your values, and the person you're becoming—not around the opinions of others.

Life became much lighter when I stopped trying to impress everyone...

Stopped chasing approval.

Stopped forcing outcomes.

Stopped carrying burdens that were never mine to carry.

The Buddha taught that peace doesn't come from having everything.

It comes from understanding what truly matters...

Letting go of what doesn't...

And living each day with awareness, compassion, and wisdom.

#2,3& 4 speak to me especially.

Wisdom 2: I still struggle with thinking others’ actions or inactions are to do with me. Although, I’m learning to let go, it would be easier to do so if I kept this one in mind.

Wisdom 3: I noticed positive shifts when I pulled back from upsetting things I saw on social media and started paying attention to what I was focusing on. There are things happening that concern me and I have to protect my energy.

Wisdom 4: Years ago when I went through a very dark period in my life, I survived and it gave me compassion and understanding I wouldn’t have had otherwise…extremely tough and I’m grateful.

Which of these speak to you?

Sharing from Buddhist post:

HOW AUGUST CAN CHANGE YOUR LIFE

1. Let August be your fresh beginning.
You don't need a new year to start over. A single decision today can change the direction of your life.

2. Create one healthy habit.
Read, exercise, meditate, or take a daily walk. Small actions repeated consistently create extraordinary results.

3. Protect your peace.
Spend less time with negativity and more time with people, places, and habits that nourish your mind.

4. Simplify your life.
Let go of unnecessary clutter, distractions, and commitments that no longer align with your values.

5. Practice gratitude every day.
Notice the blessings you usually overlook. Gratitude changes how you see the life you already have.

6. Forgive what is weighing you down.
Holding on to resentment keeps you connected to yesterday. Forgiveness creates space for peace.

7. Take care of your body.
Eat nourishing food, move regularly, sleep well, and remember that your health is your greatest investment.

8. Be fully present.
Stop rushing through life. Some of the most meaningful moments happen when you're paying attention.

9. Choose progress over perfection.
You don't have to do everything perfectly. You only need to keep moving forward, one step at a time.

10. Become someone your future self will thank.
The choices you make this month can become the foundation of a happier, healthier, and more peaceful life.

The Buddha taught that every moment is an opportunity to begin again.

Don't wait for the perfect time.

Don't wait for next month.

The life you hope for is built by the choices you make today.

I’m a work in progress and I can recognize a new self that observes and notices instead of reacting or getting upset by someone else’s behaviour understanding that it is about them.

Wise words from Buddha:

WHEN LIFE FEELS HEAVY, DO THIS

1. Stop trying to carry everything at once.
You don't have to solve your entire life today. Focus on the next step, not the whole journey.

2. Take a slow, deep breath and return to the present.
The mind becomes heavy when it carries yesterday's regrets and tomorrow's worries at the same time.

3. Give yourself permission to rest.
Rest is not weakness. It's how your mind and body recover so you can keep moving forward.

4. Talk to someone you trust.
You were never meant to carry every burden alone. Sometimes one honest conversation can lighten a heavy heart.

5. Step outside for a while.
Fresh air, sunlight, and a short walk can calm the mind and bring a new perspective.

6. Don't believe every thought you have.
When you're overwhelmed, your mind often exaggerates problems. Observe your thoughts instead of automatically accepting them.

7. Remember everything you've already survived.
You've overcome challenges you once thought would break you. That strength is still within you.

8. Look for what is still good.
Even in difficult seasons, there is usually something to be grateful for—a kind person, a warm meal, a quiet moment, or simply another chance to begin again.

9. Be gentle with yourself.
Healing doesn't happen through harsh self-criticism. It grows through patience, compassion, and understanding.

10. Keep going, even if your steps are small.
Progress isn't measured by speed. Some days, simply getting through the day is an act of courage.

Life becomes heavy for everyone.

Even those who seem strong.

Even those who always smile.

Even those who look like they have everything together.

So if you're struggling right now...

Don't give up.

Don't rush your healing.

And don't be ashamed of asking for support when you need it.

The Buddha taught that even the longest journey is walked one step at a time.

Take that one step.

Then another.

One breath.

One day.

One moment at a time.

I think everyone feels overwhelmed sometimes and when we have a lot on our plate or things aren’t going well it can feel more challenging to handle all the stresses in life.

Sometimes talking to someone helps. If talking or getting some strategies to manage stress sounds helpful please feel free to reach out for a free 20 minute consult at 587-322-4450.

Sharing a Buddhism post:

WHEN SOMEONE HURTS YOU, DO THIS

1. Remember: how they treated you is a reflection of them, not you.
People reveal their character through how they treat others. Never let someone else's behavior become your self-worth.

2. Don't react immediately.
Pain wants a reaction. Wisdom wants a pause. Give yourself time before you say something you'll later regret.

3. Stop asking, "Why would they do this to me?"
A better question is: "What is this experience trying to teach me?"

4. Protect your peace before your pride.
Many people destroy their own peace trying to prove a point, get revenge, or have the last word.

5. Accept people for who they show themselves to be.
The sooner you stop believing potential over behavior, the less suffering you create for yourself.

6. Let disappointment create boundaries, not bitterness.
You don't need to hate people. You simply need to learn where they belong in your life.

7. Heal instead of plotting revenge.
Revenge keeps the wound alive. Healing closes it.

8. Stop reopening the wound in your mind.
Every time you replay what happened, you force yourself to experience the pain again.

9. Learn the lesson and keep moving forward.
Every painful experience arrives carrying wisdom. Don't leave empty-handed.

10. Choose peace over being right.
Not every battle deserves your participation. Sometimes walking away is the strongest thing you can do.

The Buddha taught:

"If you are struck by an arrow,
do not pick up a second arrow and strike yourself again."

The first arrow is what happened.

The second arrow is the anger,
resentment,
and suffering you continue to carry.

Let people reveal who they are.

Let life teach what it needs to teach.

And let yourself move forward lighter than before.

Because healing begins

the moment you stop carrying
what hurt you.
