What does this mean to you? To me it means may death find me living my life, not just going through the motions. Not just existing but living my life fully, however that looks at the time. And of course this is key as living fully now in my 50's will look different 10 years from now. Different does not have to mean less fulfilling.

This is a widely quoted proverb in works of people like Michael Meade and Francis Weller to name a few.

I am revisiting the book The Wild Edge of Sorrow by Francis Weller. Such a lovely book and my copy is heavily underlined and marked with notes on the margin of the pages. This questions struck me recently.

I sometimes do an activity in my workshops and retreats were we reflect on how we would like to be remembered, what we would like to be able to say about our lives when we reach those final days. What words we want used to describe us and the lives we lived. I will now include this question for Weller. For what would your soul like to be remembered?

Different parts of us may show up in the exercise that I do and that is welcome as knowing and integrating our different parts is an aspect of the work we do with Enchanted Wise Women. The soul question takes it even deeper. I am curious to explore this in my own reflections and to see what comes up in circle.

The bio hacking, health optimizing for ageing is missing the mark by a mile! Yes, it is important to take care of our bodies. And it is great that we have new research and tech that can help us do that. However, we cannot control everything about our health. You can be doing everything right and still get struck by something that limits your physical capcity.
Then what?
If your concept of a happy elderhood is predicated soley on your physical prowess or appearance what happens to you, and your sense of fulfillment in life, if that is suddenly taken away?
I believe we must also focus on internal habits that help us cultivate a deep inner sense of joy, fulfillment and purpose. As well as a deep inner knowing of who we are, our innate value beyond what we do, how we look or how physically capable we are.
That is exactly what Enchanted Wise Women is all about

A 2.5 hour mid week sanctuary for women in midlife, menopause and beyond. This is for women who are ready to ready to re-write the script on what it means to age as a women.

For the woman who is ready to slow down, listen to the whisper of ancient trees and her own intuition. Who loves the idea of forging genuine, soulful connections with the wise nature beings around her, and with a community of like-minded sisters.

Nestled right on the edge of the city at the historic Paskapoo Slopes/Medicine Hill, we will move past the surface of daily small talk and enter a space of deep somatic grounding, timeless ritual, and collective wisdom.
