"A pedicure is basically the same as a foot care nurse visit."
I've heard some version of that a lot, and on a completely healthy foot with no other concerns, it might even be close to true — that's the part of the sentence people tend to leave off.
I'm a Licensed Practical Nurse with a background in paramedicine, and I take referrals from physicians and a podiatrist's office across Calgary — I built Soleful Harmony specifically around feet that need more than a coat of polish.
If you're diabetic, you're on a blood thinner, or you have reduced circulation or nerve sensation in your feet, a nail salon simply isn't set up to catch what actually matters for you.
A real foot care visit uses sterile, reusable or single-use tools and full infection control, not equipment shared between clients throughout the day.
It includes an actual check of your circulation, your nerve sensation, and your skin integrity, not just how your nails look when you leave. And if something unusual comes up during that visit, it gets documented and followed up on, instead of quietly missed.
That's really the whole difference — it gets seen, it gets assessed, and it gets followed, instead of getting covered in polish and forgotten about until it's a bigger problem.
I bring this level of care directly to your door across Calgary, Airdrie, Chestermere, High River, and Canmore, so you don't have to manage transportation or a waiting room to get it.
If "a pedicure is basically the same thing" is a sentence you've told yourself, I'd just gently ask you to consider whether it's actually true for your feet, or whether it belongs to someone else's.
