Measles Alert: there is a measles outbreak in British Columbia. Measles is one of the most infectious diseases we know of, it is highly contagious. The complications of measles can be severe, including encephalitis (brain swelling), immune suppression, blindness, pneumonia, febrile seizures, or death.

This is a plea to ensure you, your family, and your children are vaccinated. Serious side effects of vaccines are rare, and happen at a far less common rate than they occur from measles infection.

Symptoms of measles include red, runny eyes, nasal congestion, cough, and a rash that begins on the face and neck. If you think you have been exposed to measles and are developing symptoms, call 811. If you are coming to hospital or clinic because you think you have measles, please wear a mask and remain outdoors until you are brought in to your room to help reduce the chance of spread.

Update 10:30am: Clinic closed for day Aug 22

We have been advised through EOC at District of Clearwater that power is not expected to return until at least 2:30pm. As such, the clinic will remain closed for today. Anyone who had appointments booked today will be called as soon as possible once power is restored to be rebooked. Please do not call or leave messages for this for at least 24hrs - our staff will be reaching out to you directly.
