We do not "Study" Yoga.... we are yoga? How do we make this practice? How do we BE YOGA.

Deep Breath... the invitation of a way of life that creates the nourishing ecosysten that holds our life.

Calgary girl Serena Aurura joins Jill on the Podcast to talk about her new book "Unbound: An Immigrant Daughter's Journey of Reckoning, Unraveling Shame, and Reclaiming Her Worth".

TRAUMA no co-incidence that it rhymes with AMA.

Ama is the stuff that gunks up your system, preventing it from efficient and healthy operating. When we "digest what no longer serves us" we release Ama/Trauma fro the body.

Burn, Transmute, Digest... the patterns and beliefs that no longer serve you.

Brene Brown’s Atlas of the Heart outlines emotions that, I think, are directly connected to hormonal regulation in the body. When we encounter, create, experience, or cultivate these emotions, I believe we are directly affecting the efficient production of a key hormone in the body.

Validating the sensory experience as a pathway to health.

These are my guesses at what creates Oxytocin.... what do you think?

Excitement, Admiration, Reverence, Awe, Wonder, Curiosity, Interest, Amusement, Bittersweetness, Belonging, Connection, Love, Trust, Self-Trust, Joy, Happiness, Calm, Contentment, Gratitude, Tranquility.
Oxytocin a Yin Hormone. Helping you feel Bonding, safety, softening, connection, trust.
Gratitude practice, life perspective and experiences can bring Oxytocin into your day intentionally. Why are we not prescribing THIS?

Kitchen Sadhana

Sādhanā, literally means “methodical discipline to attain desired knowledge or goal”. Also defined as spiritual practice.

This is an invitation to set up practices around how you keep and work in your kitchen, and how you approach it as a key step to create your body. Our goal is to allow our food to be infused with mindfulness, intention, and divine energy. To set the stage to receive this food as divine, a life-giving force that is meant to nourish and sustain us, we shift our awareness.

I need to constantly remember this one. The kitchen, when I am not practicing Sadhana, can feel like a cage. The more I allow these practices to take hold the more freedom and support arises from the kitchen. The consciousness of the chef is the most important ingredient in the food.

It has to work or I didn't do it right.
Permission to get it wrong.

Come and see how the Year of YOU makes changes. Helps you quiet the voices in your head that constantly judges you, tells you when you can "tick something off' or not. What are we measuring? Why? How is it helping us?

My logical brain searches for answers.
Feeling aren't answers.

Instead of finding answers, we experiment with learning how to notice how things feel.
The point of the Year of YOU is to shift HOW you do life.

Amanda found her shift.

I tried to join LinkedIn recently. But it got hard right away when my “credentials” just weren’t recognized. Sure I can enter my 1995 BA from UofC, but after that.. my Yoga Teacher Trainings, Yoga Therapy Training, Ayurvedic Medicine Training.... apparently there is some way for me to override and self enter these modalities. But the software wasn’t created to make that easy.

The systems we live in are created to help elevate some and keep others down. Our Credential system (alongside “evidence based” stuff) is there to w**d out Wisdom. To create processes that will over ride any personal common sense that might (on my god) be used to help solve an issue.

We continually tell people that their own evidence, their own experience, their own wisdom - isn’t valuable unless they learned it from a place that will give it a stamp of approval, and that place has handshake deals with other places as to who is allowed in that crowd.
