๐Ÿฅ•๐Ÿ’œ THE PURPLE GARDEN FOOD SHARE ๐Ÿ’œ๐Ÿฅ•

A simple idea. A stronger community.

Do you have more produce than your household can use? We'd love to help share that abundance with our community.

Every Monday and Tuesday from 9:00 am - 11:00 am, we collect fresh produce from community members' personal gardens.

๐Ÿš— We come to you!

Simply register as a donor, leave your produce on your front porch or another agreed-upon location, and we'll pick it up. No need to deliver it yourself.

On Wednesdays, the donated produce is placed outside Mystic Avenue on the Purple Stand, where anyone in the community is welcome to take what they need at no charge.

No applications.
No income requirements.
No questions asked.

Just neighbours helping neighbours.

๐ŸŒฑ Donations can include:
โ€ข Vegetables
โ€ข Fruit
โ€ข Fresh herbs
โ€ข Garden-grown produce in good condition

๐Ÿ“ฉ Want to become a donor? PM Mystic Avenue to register.

Together we can reduce food waste, support our neighbours, and share the abundance growing right here in our community.

๐Ÿ“ Produce available every Wednesday on the Purple Stand outside Mystic Avenue Yoga & Wellness Studio

๐ŸŒฟSunday Reflections: Standing Firm Without Hardening๐ŸŒฟ

This week, Mystic Avenue painted our threshold rainbow.

We did it because visibility matters. Not because we wanted attention, and not because we were trying to make a political statement. We did it because we believe it is important for people, especially young people, to know there are places where they are welcome, accepted, and safe to be themselves.

The response has been overwhelmingly positive. Many people have thanked us. Some have shared how meaningful it is to see visible signs of inclusion in a small town. Those conversations have reminded me why we made the decision in the first place.

There have also been a few negative comments. One person, in particular, told us they would never return to the store again.

As I reflected on that response, I found myself paying attention to what was happening inside me. I have always had a bit of a warrior spirit. When I see people being treated unfairly, when I witness prejudice or exclusion, my instinct is often to stand up, push back, and defend what I believe is right. There is value in that impulse. Many important changes throughout history happened because people were willing to stand up and say, "This is not okay."

At the same time, I have learned that living in warrior mode comes with a cost.

When I stay in that energy for too long, I lose my peace. I find myself replaying conversations, imagining arguments, and carrying the weight of someone else's opinion long after the interaction is over. The person who made the comment has likely moved on with their day, yet I am the one still carrying the emotional burden.

The older I get, the more I realize that standing up for something and fighting against something are not always the same thing.

I can believe deeply in inclusion without hating those who disagree with me. I can hold firm to my values without carrying resentment in my heart. I can choose not to shrink myself while also choosing not to harden myself.

That, I think, is the real challenge.

It is easy to love people who agree with us. It is easy to feel compassion for those who see the world the way we do. The harder practice is maintaining an open heart when we encounter people whose views feel hurtful, disappointing, or even offensive.

If I truly believe what I often write about here, that we are all connected and that there is a divine spark within every person, then that belief cannot apply only to people I like. It must also apply to those who challenge me.

That does not mean accepting harmful behaviour. It does not mean abandoning boundaries or staying silent when something matters. It simply means remembering that I do not have to become what I oppose.

Fear, anger, and division are contagious. We can see that throughout history and in many corners of the world today. They spread quickly because they speak to something primal within us. They invite us to choose sides, draw lines, and decide who belongs and who does not.

Love asks something more difficult of us.

Love asks us to stay open when it would be easier to close. It asks us to remain compassionate without becoming passive. It asks us to stand firmly in our values while resisting the temptation to dehumanize those who disagree with us.

I am not always successful at that. Some days the warrior in me shows up before the peacemaker does.

But perhaps the work is not to eliminate the warrior. Perhaps the work is to teach the warrior to serve the heart.

This week, that is what I am reflecting on.

I do not need to convince everyone to agree with me. I do not need to carry someone else's fear, anger, or judgement. I do not need to sacrifice my peace in order to stand in my truth.

I can stand firm without hardening.

And perhaps that is one of the most important spiritual practices of all.

May you be blessed,
Rev. Kim Etherington

House Clearings & Home Blessings โœจ๐Ÿก

A home is more than walls and a roof. It holds memories, emotions, experiences, and the energy of everyone who has passed through its doors. Whether you have moved into a new space, experienced a major life transition, or simply feel your home could benefit from a fresh start, a House Clearing & Blessing can help create a renewed sense of peace, harmony, and intention.

At Mystic Avenue, our clearings and blessings are not a performance done for you. They are a collaborative and meaningful process created with you. Each ceremony is customized to reflect your beliefs, intentions, and the unique story of your home.

The process includes a pre-ritual consultation where we discuss your goals, concerns, and the energy you wish to cultivate within your space. Together, we then move through the home, beginning with a clearing from the lowest level to the highest, followed by a blessing from the highest level back down through the home.

A variety of tools may be incorporated, including smoke cleansing, sound, crystals, flowers, drums, chimes, holy water, clapping, prayers, blessings, and sacred verses. Every ritual is thoughtfully crafted to create a deeply personal and meaningful experience.

One of the most important aspects of this service is education. We believe that caring for the energy of your home should be an ongoing practice. During the process, you will learn simple techniques and rituals you can continue to use yourself, helping you maintain the atmosphere you wish to create long after the ceremony is complete.

House Clearings & Blessings are led by Rev. Kim Etherington, an ordained Metaphysical Minister with over 20 years of experience in spiritual practice, ritual facilitation, energy work, meditation, and sacred space creation. Kim's approach is grounded, respectful, and inclusive, meeting people where they are and creating ceremonies that honour their personal beliefs and intentions.

Investment: $150 - $250
(Includes consultation and customized clearing/blessing ceremony)

To learn more or book a consultation, send us a message. We'd be honoured to help you create a home that feels aligned, peaceful, and truly your own. โœจ๐Ÿก๐Ÿ’œ
