🌼 Baby Bottom Bliss Balm 🌼

I recently made a very small batch of this gentle herbal diaper balm so I could gift a couple of tins to two young moms.

Made with calendula, chamomile, marshmallow root, lemon balm, shea butter, and beeswax to help soothe and protect tender little bottoms.

Handcrafted with simple, nourishing ingredients—just as it should be. 💛

Harvesting lemon balm today! I'll be letting the leaves wilt for a few hours and then make an oil infusion with them. I love the lemony scent.

Fun Fact: The fresh herb is valuable for both cold sores and shingles. I use it routinely in my balmy lips lip balm which helped to heal a cut lip as well. Lemon balm is the bomb. 😊

The tinctures are ready! Wild Yam and Elderberry tinctures, slowly steeped, now strained and bottled—rich, beautiful, and full of nourishing goodness.

Elderberry for immune support, and Wild Yam as a gentle ally for women’s wellness. I'll be using the Wild Yam soon with Chasteberry tincture for menopause support, but will tuck away the Elderberry to use when a need arises.

I’m grateful for these simple, homemade remedies, crafted with patience and care... well, except for today when I made a bit of a mess during the bottling phase with the elderberries—they stain everything! Luckily, it only splattered and didn’t spill, so I’ll count that as a win. 😄

Introducing “Sleepy Muscles” — Herbal Magnesium Oil Spray for daily use.✨

Do you ever crawl into bed and realize your shoulders are still carrying the weight of the day? Or your legs just won’t fully relax?

Magnesium plays an important role in muscle relaxation and nervous system regulation, and many people find that using it topically can help ease tight shoulders, restless legs, and end-of-day tension.

This small-batch spray combines magnesium chloride with a strong herbal infusion of chamomile, oat straw, calendula, and lavender — herbs traditionally used to calm the nervous system and soothe muscular discomfort. A touch of St. John’s wort is included for additional support where tension feels deeper or nerve-related.

I steep the dried herbs slowly, strain carefully, and blend each batch by hand. When I first tried it myself, I was honestly surprised at how quickly I could feel my muscles start to relax. It felt like my body finally let go a little.

To use: spray onto calves, neck, shoulders, or the bottoms of the feet before bed. Massage lightly and allow to absorb. A slight tingling sensation can be normal, especially on first use.

Available in 60 ml spray bottles — $18 each.

After an extended holiday, I'm finally back in the apothecary! 🎉

Today was soap day! These bars are made with rosemary and calendula–infused almond oil, finely ground oats, and a splash of eucalyptus e.o. and a muscle & joint blend e.o. (eucalyptus, rosemary, camphor, and cajeput). This soap is gentle on the skin, lightly exfoliating, and smells clean and fresh without being overpowering.

A simple, happy soap for everyday showers! 🙂

Fire Cider Day! I bottled up the batch that I started in early November and shook vigorously each day afterwards, and wow… It really packs a punch. 💥

Fire cider is a traditional herbal tonic made by infusing apple cider vinegar with roots, herbs, and all things zesty. This batch includes the classic warming, circulatory-supportive ingredients: onions, garlic, ginger, lemons, cloves, rosemary, my homegrown jalapenos, turmeric, and more! Plus I managed to find some fresh horseradish so it's in there too.

And the best part is that it supports immune health, aids digestion, and helps fight off colds and flu. Woo.🎈 It can be used in dressings, marinades, soups, or take a small spoonful if you’re feeling brave...which apparently I was. A little truly goes a long way. 😉

This fall, I spent some time harvesting elecampane root in my garden and thought I'd post a video of the process from harvest to drying. Note to self: don't hold the camera with one hand while digging with the other. Get motion sickness easy? Maybe skip the first part of the video... 😄

Elecampane is a classic herbal ally for the respiratory system — warming, aromatic, and traditionally used to help loosen mucus and soothe coughs. It's also great as a gentle digestive bitter. And this is the first time I've harvested and will be using it. Exciting times! 🎉

Made a fire cider on this rainy wednesday which will be ready to go in 3-4 weeks. Had everything on hand except fresh horseradish which I had a hard time finding. Perhaps I'll grow it next year. 🙂

Today in the apothecary, I spent part of the morning labelling Lemon Balm lip balms for a bulk order--54 in total, to be exact. Lemon Balm lip balms are truly wonderful, if I do say so myself. A few of them even contain a hint of lavender, which not only smells lovely but also helps ease headaches. And that's a good thing. :)
