Spotted in her natural habitat ;)
Yup, fair to say I love nature.
I don’t regret a thing about moving to Vancouver.
…don’t get me wrong, there was a learning curve - long nights and stress searching for apartments to rent, uncertainty about what I should do for work, being confused why google maps and street names didn’t always match and not one seemed to be phased by it, taking the wrong exit on the highway that added 10 minutes to my drive that I didn’t account for…etc…your regular annoyances when you’re new and not totally settled.
And it came with some fun inner dialogue…
Why am I doing this?
Why is this so hard?
I think I’m screwed…
What am I suppose to be doing?
Will this actually work out?
This isn’t working out…
Maybe this isn’t it?
And sometimes it wasn’t it - it wasn’t the right neighbourhood, the right line of work, the right partnership…
The interesting thing is, looking back I never questioned if I should be in Vancouver. There was a settledness about that.
It’s like I was never going to pass up being in the forest for a circumstance.
I see that now, and in the moment it was more like ‘this sucks - I think I’m going to go hang out in the forest.’
Hindsight is 20/20
I guess I’m a forest gal!
