21 DAY SUNRISE CHALLENGE

Tomorrow we begin via zoom.

For the first few days we’ll be meeting on Zoom. The weather doesn’t look like it’s going to let up, and starting online gives us a little more ease as we settle into this new rhythm together.

I’ve always been drawn to sunrise practice. There is something powerful about greeting the day before the world wakes up, before your mind has something to say. From a health perspective, early morning light helps regulate our circadian rhythm, supports better sleep, improves energy, and helps bring balance to the nervous system. Even a few minutes of morning sunlight can have a profound effect on our mood and wellbeing.

Sunrise has long been considered a sacred time for practice. The mind is quieter, the senses are sharper, and the world feels more open. Moving through Sun Salutations as the light emerges, the practice becomes an act of participation rather than preparation. You’re not simply getting ready for the day, you’re meeting it as it unfolds.

these practices are powerful on their own but there is something transformative about doing them in community. Knowing others are waking up alongside you, breathing, moving, and sharing a sense of belonging that can be hard to find in our busy lives.

Been quietly building for a long time behind the camera and realized I’ve spent more time creating the work than actually sharing it.

So I’m starting to post more over at Brokeseed.

I’ll be sharing documentary style work across industry, creative work with artists, travel, branded pieces, and some upcoming film projects currently in development. A mix of the worlds I move through creatively and professionally.

I aim to build more of a community around the work and connect with people who are into filmmaking, storytelling, music, movement, and raw human moments.

Come say hi and follow along:

This week I got to celebrate the brightest light in my life, my beloved Laura. And with my son Sol’s birthday just a couple of days apart, it turns into a beautiful little season of celebration in our home. A lifelong reminder of how blessed I am to share this journey with two incredible souls who bring so much light, love, and joy into my world.

Now in post-production on the first film in a short-film anthology Jesse and I are creating.

On this one, the crew came together naturally, humble, ambitious, and deeply committed to the vision.

We couldn’t have asked for more.

Had an awesome, wide-ranging convo with Derek Pang of on his Welcome to the Winners Circle podcast — now live as Episode 178. Episode in my linktree

We went deep. Yoga, filmmaking, fatherhood, fear, faith, ayahuasca, breathwork, heartbreak, heroism — it’s all in there. From growing up without a father to raising kids of my own. From the first time I stepped on a mat to what still keeps me coming back. From working in the film industry to walking the path of pilgrimage.

If you’re at a crossroads, if you’re questioning your “shoulds” and feeling the pull of your “must” , this one’s for you.

We’re all walking the Hero’s Journey, just at different stages. Hope something in this conversation resonates with wherever you are.

You’re Invited to the 13th Annual Sunrise Solstice Namaskar this Saturday
June 21 · 6:00 AM · Riverdale Park, Edmonton

On the longest day of the year—when the sun holds steady and light stretches across the sky—we gather again in stillness and strength. What began as a quiet offering in 2012 has become a powerful shared ritual, woven with breath, devotion, and renewal.

We meet the rising sun with 108 Sun Salutations, a sacred sequence that awakens vitality and honours both the external sun and the inner fire. I will guide four steady rounds of 27 salutations. Between each, we pause—breathe, listen, remember.

This is a moving meditation. Each breath becomes a mantra. Each gesture becomes a prayer. You’ll leave feeling deeply charged—physically, energetically, spiritually. This practice meets you where you are. You don’t need to be advanced in yoga—only willing to show up and greet the light.

🌄 Throwback to my first time teaching at the Banff Yoga Festival in 2018—a milestone that introduced me to friendships I still treasure today, including with the festival’s organizer who has invited me back to teach at subsequent festivals in Banff and Okanagan. I’m excited to return this May 23-26 for Well In Banff.

🧘 If you’ve experienced the Banff Yoga Festival, you know the unique atmosphere it offers. As I travel teaching across Canada, I frequently meet attendees who recognize me from the festival and share fond memories—from yoga in the mountains to refreshing river dips and forming lasting bonds. Each story brings a smile.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 This year marks the festival’s return since its hiatus during the lockdown, and I am thrilled to be part of it, teaching alongside a lineup of esteemed instructors familiar to those who practice in Canada. This photo was taken a couple of months before Laura and I got married, and now we get to return with our two little ones, introducing them to the festival’s beauty and exuberance. It’s a full-circle moment for our family.

🙏 A heartfelt thanks to Kaeleigh for her monumental effort in reviving this fantastic event. It’s set to be an unforgettable celebration of yoga and community in the stunning Canadian Rockies.

🎟️ Special Invite: Join my sessions at the Banff Yoga Festival! Find all details and my schedule on the festival’s website, linked in my bio.
