There is both relief and grief in this truth.

Relief, because you were never meant to carry the weight of changing another person.

Grief, because loving an adult child often means watching them choose a path you would not choose for them.

Lasting internal change cannot be forced from the outside.

Pressure, control, and repeated correction tend to increase resistance and distance, while humility, emotional steadiness, and respectful connection create greater openness over time

God’s Word tells us:

Ezekiel 36:26 (NLT)
“I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit in you.”

Zechariah 4:6 (NLT)
“It is not by force nor by strength, but by my Spirit, says the Lord.”

Heart change has never been a parental assignment.

Heart change is reserved for God.

In this season, faith looks like releasing the role of redeemer…

choosing to pray and trusting that God is at work even when you cannot see evidence yet.

You are not stepping back from love.
You are stepping into trust.
